1. My mom is best friends with Hazel. She's asked to move twice now, but both times, the options were "what! Don't go" & "Who are you?"
Is there a reason why Hazel wont let my mom let her leave?

2. I'm thinking about getting another cartridge. If I'm going to do that, I'm going to let a few villagers move out of my main town and focus on getting people to move into the right places. I've seen situations where people end up having to plot reset for days. Do they have to TT in order to go on for days? Or does the plot just keep moving as long as you never start up your villager?
 
The "Who are you?" option is the "okay you can move i don't care" option, pretty much. I've found that the friendlier you are with a villager the more likely they are to ping you to ask to move.

The plot will keep moving as long as you start a new character. It's annoying and time consuming but if you're picky, it's what you have to do. It has to be a new character, too, or the plot will lock in place.

1. Hmm.. My mom selected the "who are you option" and hazel was sad that she didnt know who she was, so she stayed to be her bestie. Is it possible that "who are you" could result in both?

2. So even if its day 2 after the fence has showed up, I can still plot reset without TT? (Just want to make 100% sure)
 
Yeah it's like when a villager pings you and says they want to move and you say "okay bye!" and they change their mind. They want to get to know you better before they leave.

Well, houses appear a day after the fence plot does, so you wouldn't be able to move it on day two because the villager would have moved in. You would have to plot reset the day the fence plot appears.
 
Okay. So I'd have to Tt if I intend to plot reset over multiple days...
Meh. I can't be bothered.

Yeah there's always two options and the top one is always asking them to stay (just in case you're button mashing I guess) and the bottom one (whatever it says there) is always asking them to leave.
 
If your mom wants to keep Hazel, it's best to tell her to stay. "Who are you?," when the friendship is stronger, will result in Hazel agreeing to move out. Sometimes you can convince a villager to stay by talking to them again later (if they've agreed to move out, that is), but it's better to just tell them to stay.
 
Whenever a villager pings me to move, and I use option b (letting them leave) and they decide to change their minds, I just quit the game without saving. Reload, deal with resetti, and theyll ping me again. This time they actually decide to move out.

I know a lot of people don't like resetting but thats just in my experience.



As for #2, you can keep resetting for daaays and days and the plot will never become permanent. As long as you dont load the game on an existing character.
I don't like doing this personally, so after every 10 hours or so, I'll continue as my mayor and TT backwards to the day I invited that villager to move in.. then repeat the process (TT to 5:58, save and quit, etc).
 
For the first one, when you ask "who are you" it means that you don't even know who they are and don't care if they leave or not. It is kind of like "wow I don't even care or notice if you are here or not so what is your name again" it will hurt the villagers feelings and they will move!!
