I've never seen Pascal eat the scallop..

Yet everyone mentions how cute he is when he eats it?? He just swims away for me and when I try to follow, he's already disappeared.. so how are people seeing him eat it?

In New Leaf, after you encounter Pascal for that day, he will float outside of the net. But I haven't seen that in New Horizons either.

Am i missing something?

I've only seen him eat the scallop on the edges of my island. If you're on the left side of your island for instance when you find him, keep swimming to the left fenced off barrier and see if he's over there, eating his scallop.

after he leaves with it i usually swim to the closest net barrier as fast as i can and i always manage to catch him!
