I've been gone for a long time. Who are the most popular villagers now?

Because it's a game that interests me so I'm curious which villagers people like. I don't really see the big deal...

Actually Molly was not too popular back when I left the forum so that's interesting to know.

Oh cool. It actually took me a while to find any posts about people selling her, but once I got her I've been seeing tons.

It feels like people can't have their own opinions of what's cool, cute, whatever.
They just follow the rest.

^^^I, uh... Okay... I mean yeah, I guess I see what you mean. Tier 1 villagers are popular for a reason. Yeah, some people just follow the crowd, but most don't. I don't like most (not all) tier ones because their designs don't appeal to me. (Merengue, Coco, Stitches, etc.) But I looove Beau, because I find him adorable. I also love a lot of lower-tiers like Kyle, Sparro, and Phil.

I have some popular favorites like Merengue and Zucker (Merengue was my starter and I had no idea that she was popular before I joined some forums) and Katt and Olivia who aren't very popular.
I asked because I was interested to know if anything changed during the 1.5 years that I've been gone.

That's true. I have yet to see someone adopt Octavian. Merengue has fallen too.
