It's just... gone.





I came here and made a thread cause I was sad.

Not because I need help getting back on my feet, as despite the fact that this was a 2-year game, I have not nor will I ever be wealthy.

Not because I was worried about the mechanics of corruption, cause I've explored it extensively, and my conclusion is that sometimes, bad things just happen.

I'm just sad. I lost something really important. I thought maybe, since this was a common problem, I could find compassion and shared loss with others. Maybe I wanted to make an obituary. I don't know.

Together was a rescue town where I took in abandoned or voided villagers. I loved them, got them back on their feet, and sent them to a new home - or their old one, if still wanted. I probably helped almost 100 villagers and their people, all over a little more than a year. It was not a pretty town, but it was lovely.

But it's gone.

I just... I don't know if I can play again.

*hugs* I know it's difficult, but you can move on from this. Take a break for a while and when you come back, your next town will be even better than the one you lost.

This is why I only have physical copies...I've never heard of that with them, I am very sorry...may I ask what happened?

Oh man, that's terrible! I hear this is happens with mostly digital copies of games and isn't likely to happen with physical copies. Good thing I like going with physical copies. Yet to have an issue with save data corruption with my 3DS titles.

Hopefully I didn't jinx myself..

Don't feel safe with a physical copy! Mine physical town corrupted...

I'm pretty sure some people just lie and say their town corrupted after they reset their town willingly in order to get people to give them free stuff out of pity.

Yes there are a lot of these posts about losing towns, and I don't think I've seen one thread where a player says in detail what has happened.
And mainly they say nothing at all.

I've found this comment by LadyDrac on reddit one of the most useful for me as a more or less legit player (I don't dupe, reset or use any sort of editor; but I do freeze time so I can play every ingame day tho I can't play every day in real life).

The problem I have with duping is it interupts the game while saving, so I'm not happy to do that.
Restting - well I've done that on occasion - to get the Resetti centre for a start, & when I ran thru a hybrid, but I do note the 3ds Manual says do not reset games frequently (I'm not going back & searching for it, but I have seen a sentence to this effect in more than one console manual (I have several consoles original, XL & new XL, all PAL versions).

I'm careful while the game is saving, and up to now I've been good. (cart copy).

I fear that my town will reset, even though I don't dupe, reset, etc. It would be handy for everyone if the people who's towns corrupted would at least admit that the reason they corrupted was because of them duping, resetting, etc.

My physical copy corrupted too. But life goes on, and now you can start a brand new town! Even if I know how you feel and I'm sorry about your loss, now you've got the opportunity to make a fresh new start!

The Reddit guide is actually pretty good. I avoid interrupting the game while it is on the loading screen. Good to see that my safety procautions were correct.

I'm sorry to hear. I've never experienced corrupted data but from the stories of corruption it sounds terrible. Lets hope it won't happen again.

I'm sorry this happen. I know that if my town were ever lost, I'd end up trying to make the exact same town again with my dreamies, albeit a little more organized. (And by exact, I mean the same exact map with peaches. Gotta have my map and peaches.)

I'm so sorry for you! when I had reset my first ACNL town it was very sad! so I can only assume how bad this felt!

But you do great things around the forums, so don't listen to the negative and off-topic things people say on here! The memory of Together will never be forgotten because of all the users and villagers you were able to help through it! Good luck restarting! ask if you need any help with anything!!!
