Island/Town theme help

So I have been struggling with the theme for my island. I’m very particular with paths and I just can’t seem to think of a cohesive theme.
I do know, that I want to have gardens everywhere, and a little urban area. How is everybody doing with this?

I love pastels and zen so I decided to do a weird combination of both lolol

but with gardens and stuff maybe a fantasy garden theme? or maybe a more foresty theme but you can separate the urban area with a river?
