Island Mini Games = Badges?

Does anyone know for sure if doing Island games, i.e. the diving ones, would count towards my badges?

yes and no - for example you can catch bugs on non-bug tours, and they will still be in your pockets when you leave the tour. this can only be done on non-bug tours, likewise with fish and seafood. things you catch on tours that are meant to be caught do not count. however you must bring them to your town afterwards and donate etc. to work towards badges.

I don't mean the filling ones - I mean the ones that are like "use the bug net 500 times" "dive 200 times" etc. I've completed my museum and stuff.

ahh well i'm not sure about those ones, but i do know that the balloon-popping tour doesn't register, so maybe that goes the same with what you're mentioning

ahhh...tragic. was hoping to kill two birds with one stone and hit the island medal badge at the same time as those. Bummer. Thanks!
