Island help

So I'm new to NH and was wondering if I could have help getting 3 stars? Like in a community opinion and not internet blog post opinions what can I do to progress. Thank you!

I just picked up loose stuff laying about and scattered furniture everywhere. Also get at least 7 villagers in your town.

Are you interested in getting it organically or trying to rush it to unlock terraforming? If you are just trying to unlock terraform, get the assessed fossils from blathers and placed them around. They are expensive and large so they are worth a lot of development points.

Make sure to not have more than 15 "dropped" items on your island.

What made it take a while for me to get 3 stars was the fences, so make sure you have plenty of fences around your island. If you're having trouble finding a good use for them, then try putting them around the edges of cliffs, and also around villagers houses to make a sort of yard/or them. It's not actually too hard to get 3 stars once you start forcing yourself to build stuff. You don't just have to build a big daunting area either, as you can always just build little areas like tables and chairs with coffee cups on, or a little storage area next to your Nook's Cranny etcetera.

If you only want to raise the rating for the sake of progression then you can always start scattering random furniture around the empty parts of your island! Isabelle can't tell if something is decorated in a visually appealing way, only that there are items around or not.

It helped to place a LOT of different furniture pieces all around my island and then fence it in. I believe you need some furniture/fences in each of the squares of island on your map...
Isabelle complained that I only had the same furniture items so I bought a lot of the NMT furnitures and crafted + customized the colors for the other furniture and it really bumped up my score.

make sure to pick up all the weeds, plant flowers and trees, put a lot of furniture out and put some fences down.
and make sure you don't drop anything on the ground.
that should work
