I've been demolishing and rebuilding my bridges so they better match the paths I recently found. The third bridge, which was my "starter bridge", won't rebuild because "a resident's house is too close" and I just want to effing SCREAM. I can't even build it because the other potential space doesn't work because MY house is too close, according to that tyrant.

Now. I COULD restore a previous save and go back to my old paths, but I just love these ones so much.

And then a more dramatic thought that dawned on me was re-creating my town on another cartridge and moving all of my villagers.

I love this game, but WHY DOES IT SUCK SO BAD sometimes???

i don't recommend talking about how you powersave on tbt. it's pretty frowned upon here.

also, isabelle is a bltch, i agree 100%. she needs to shut up and be the mayor instead because i'm sick of her opinion.

Those bridge restrictions are the worst. You can build something up to 2 spaces to a bridge, but if you want to build a bridge it needs like 3-4 spaces. It just makes no sense. Also not updating the game even when your current engine allows you to doesn't make sense either. Like HHD had an update almost immediately, but I guess fixing mechanics in a main game just isn't worth it? /:

My town's ruined now. Bunifrey is my baby, and Isabelle killed it.

I really hope they 86 her for the next installment.

Isabelle isn't the problem

its the system that allows villagers to build closer to a bridge than the bridge can build to them

seriously, what jokester at Nintendo thought this was a good idea?

Couldn't you just move the bridge via an editor though if you powersave...

Because that's changing the actual coding of the game.

Sorry that I don't see the wrong in saving my file, especially a game that is notorious for corruption.

tbh I'm like 99% positive the corruption issues are completely overblown and in most instances on the fault of the player

also its just powersave and other sort of modifier discussions are against the rules. though personally, I don't really care how anyone chooses to play the game

Same thing happened to me... I tore down a bridge, and couldn't rebuild it in the exact same spot... But what's even worse is that all my villagers are blocking every single point of the river. I can't build a bridge anywhere! So now I'm stuck with only two bridges. :/

doesn't something in the code stop you from loading an older save? Unless powersaves cancels that out, but from my knowledge you had to restore from your most recent ;-;
why is this like a bad topic there are actual legit reasons to "hack", not all modification is scamming, sometimes it's to stop the game from cheating you.

It's probably that it isn't even considered an issue to begin with.

Like it really doesn't seem to be the result of a bug or anything, which means the system was intentionally designed to be like this. Which simply means just being the result of bad decisions as opposed to the result of a problem with the game itself.

Alternatively, the fact that the game is now going on its 4th year probably also means any possibilities of updates to change system workings has long since expired.

because you can profit from using powersaves.
you make a dupe town, back it all up with powersaves, and then you charge people tbt for the same rare villagers, hybrids, sets, clothing, everything over and over again. it's infinite and it's considered taboo and cheating here.

i don't care how you play the game. but powersaves will get your threads locked and closed and you can even be banned / have tbt revoked from you if you profit from hacked / stored items.

Well this derailed quickly...what was meant as a rant over the awful bridge placement mechanics turned into the evils of power saving. Which was my fault over a rather innocuous comment over restoring.

Moving on-topic, you do not realise how many plans I've had ruined by Isabelle's quirky rules about project placements. Being anywhere near the town plaza is a no-go and the archway things just make no sense when they have to be several metres away from everything.

It also bugs me how sometimes you have no idea what you're too close to because nearly everything is "something else". Also, she claims to be really busy working yet just stands in the town hall 24/7, quite literally. I am the only person who visits you on a monthly basis, Isabelle, so go do whatever you want!

I tried to place a bridge once but there was a rock "in the way" and by "in the way" I mean that it literally was at least a few steps out of the way of the bridge. ._.
