My brother just received a letter from Axel with 69,000 bells attached.

This is on top of the fact he literally got Punchy's picture in less than a month.

Has this ever happened to anyone else? I mean, come on- 69,000 bells?! Am I doing something wrong concerning villager friendship?

Nope, no events. He does time travel, but it was a totally random letter with a present attached. There was nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm not too worried about it- nor am I salty, lol. It's just a curious thing.

I thought so at first, too. Then we showed me his game. 69,000 bells attached to his letter. I interrogated him to see if he was pulling my leg, and he's still swearing by it. Maybe it's just their high friendship- or a glitch?

That's weird, I've never seen a villager do that before. My best guess is that he just added the money to the letter himself. I would have asked him to reset and reopen the letter to see if it was in a present, since that would have been harder to fake. I suppose it's possible, though I've never heard of it happening until now.

Maybe they are secretly very rich but deny it so they can get stuff off of you cheaply. XD Also I did in fact get bells in the mail in my first town (ten thousand) but it was from game mom when I didn't get my house for a month.

It was along the lines of 'I've been patrolling the town' and it ended with 'good day citizen- from Axel'. I've gotten letters like this from jocks in my town, but never with money attached.

I have received letters with money attached. But they had 100-600 bells inside.

He's already saved and gotten off New Leaf. This happened a few hours ago now. But knowing my brother, he wouldn't lie about something like this. He was excited when he got it for goodness sake, lol.

And I don't see why he couldn't get that kind of money. I've received money from villagers; a vastly smaller amount, but still money. My guess is it was a simple glitch maybe.

I seriously didn't know that could happen. I've been playing for a couple of years now and I don't think I've ever received bells from a villager in a letter. I've only received bells from Mom.
