I like it, there's lots of space south of the river for landscaping. However, the two stripes of land over the river on both sides may be annoying to develop.
That's not for us to say. If you like it, it's a good map. If you don't like it, then keep resetting. If that map were mine, I'd probably reset though because I'm not sure I like the top part of the town above the river being really tiny.
I think you're going to have problems with the top left and right parts. In my town, I have a small area in the top right and I just couldn't do anything with it. I put an orchard up there in the end but I never go up that part of town...
But it's entirely up to you of course. If you like it, go with it I personally prefer town maps where the plaza and town hall are at the top and the top and bottom half are more even. Good luck choosing
I think the river location and land space are great. Also, it's good to remember that Re-Tail should be close to the dock in case you decide to do some island trips...it's a closer distance . In that case i think Re-Tail is in a good spot too. :-D
Personally, I don't think it's a good map. If I got it, I would certainly reroll it. It's already been stated, but I'll just go over some reasons.
1) The top left/right part of the map. That's going to be very difficult to develop because of how narrow it is. You may be able to fit some pwps up there (a bench, maybe coffee shop), but it's just an impractical place to get to.
2) The right side of the map. The entire right side of the map is taken up a good amount bythe plaza and retail.
3) The river. The river is in an awkward spot, it cuts the land a little narrow at places and also, there isnt a lot of room for bridges.
do not choose this map if youre going for a forest themed town. that wide open space would be a perfect forest but unfortunately cedars only grow north of the map. if you just want a nice little town this is great.
I personally like it, but as others have said, it's your map. It doesn't matter what anyone else thinks about it, it only matters if you like it or not.
It would be a keeper if I was looking for a new town - the ramp from the dock is fairly rare to get - you do get vertical ramps with a dent to one side more often, but that vertical ramp with no dent is rare. And I personally like it.
I like the long beach, you have a mini private beach, all public buildings close together. Re-Tail within easy distance of the dock.
The narrow strips of land at the top - I actually rather fond of this and several of my towns have these narrow strips by the railway tracks.
They are good for houses, as you can't get villagers plotting in front of you. If only for your alt houses. I've put PWP there as well.
One pond is nice.
Final decision depends on rock placement, native fruit etc. Well whatever is important to you.
It's probably better than any map that I have.
But as I can see from other comments, its completely personal choice.
