because my name is Perry.
The 40 is just random. "Pear" was already taken (I can't remember for what site) and pear40 was one of their suggested names, so it stuck.

Yes, some people have similar names as mine. Master DS and Wii Master 64 are the only members that i can think of that have names similar to mine.
