Is there any way to fix this?

This is my first time happened to me.. my main town got corrupted

Unfortunately, there is no way to save your town from data corruption...

Is this a digital or physical copy of the game? For some reason, digital copies tend to corrupt most often, but the cartridges aren't exempt either...

I have physical copies, as does my hubby, and his first town corrupted. Shortly after that, I bought a Powersave to create backup saves. Just in case it happened again.

The only ways to disable data corruption in ACNL is by practicing magic in real life or praying that it doesn't happen.

Nintendo needs to take care of the data corruption problem in the next game.

If you don't already have a downloaded copy of ACNL on your 3 DS, you might be able to save your town by purchasing the digital game and using Nintendo's save manager to transfer your town from the cart to the digital copy. I have not tried this, but there is another thread in this forum somewhere that mentions doing it.

Well that's odd that a physical copy can corrupt. I've had my one ACNL cartridge for 3 years and it's been fine

Oh no this is my worst nightmare. I've heard of cartridges corrupting before, but rarely. I mostly hear people having problems with the digital version, so I always buy cartridges to try and avoid this happening....and then it happens anyway
Something really needs doing about it. The amount of people who lose all their work from data corruption

I'm so sorry! That's terrible! Especially on a physical copy... it can happen to anyone, and no one deserves that. I wish you the best. Someone needs to take action on this, corruptions seem way too common now.

I'm really sorry about this omg.. I have a physical copy too and i've always thought that they were much safer than digitals but after seeing this knowing that both have a high chance of corrupting is really disheartening.. honestly more needs to be done to make sure saved files can't corrupt too easily in future games. There's no way to fix it, but your best bet is to just make a new saved file unfortunately. I know how terrible this must feel though, but before you know it you'll have a new town that was just as good as your last. I hope you feel better about this soon.

I have never heard of this before! Does anyone know how corruption happens? Are there any precautions you can take to avoid it? My main town is a digital copy... Ahh, I'm scared now.
