Topic title means it all. I would like to see a list of the most popular Pokemon according to TBT and the least popular Pokemon.

I don't think one is really necessary. The villager popularity list helps a lot with buying and selling, Pokemon selling has a fairly uniform price and is just divided by regular and legendary. There's a thread here where people list their favorite Pokemon, but nothing beyond that.

The only reason why I would like to see one is to make a list of the best Pokemon and worst Pokemon according to TBT. It's a summary of opinions.

I'd make one based off of my own interests but it would be difficult to make it off of what TBT likes.

I'm pretty sure this has been tried in the past and it ended up flopping because
a) too much work
b) everyone had different/conflicting opinions
c) everyone deemed it pointless and useless

I mean if you want to do it. Go ahead and make one, it's not going to do anything for tbt and you're probably just going to waste your time.

Plus another 3.

... Now let's add all the forms.

Yeah, we should do that.

Actually, no. You (or somebody else) is right. Even if we do it based on generation or element, it would be too much for all of us, especially since some are hard or impossible to obtain. So a definitive list of best and worst pokemon based on combined lists will be hard to do. But we can do smaller lists.

Could break it up into 7 different topics, 6 of which are dedicated to "Top 3 Pokemon from Gen X" and then "Top 3 Overall". Still a lot of work and effort I guess, could make a Google form.

Glaceon is automatically at the top of the list. Nothing beats Glaceon.

It could be fun to rank the original 151 Pokemon. I don't know how to go about it, but I'm sure it would be a lot more simple.

i guess id be easier to rank them, adding a generation at a time like "ok i like pikachu more than muk but i like chikorita more than pikachu". itd take a REALLY long time, however.

You know we could make a poll (probably on a different site and include link in thread) and do a generation at a time and we could see what Pokemon TBT likes.

When it comes to mixing all the generations into the final list..I dunno how to go about that

shiny zorua is best looking imo

idk i still think this is pointless but i was thinking about this for like 2 secodns and i figured it'd be easier to do it via evolutioary line not each individual pokemon. that'd cut out at least half of them, f not more..

i still think it's pointless though

(also cbf fixing up typos)

Why just the "original" 151? Just sounds like nostalgiabait to me.

This shows part of the problem in ranking. We'd have to decide whether to include votes simply for shiny versions, or gender differences (ex. Meowstic Male/Female), Forme changes (ex. Shaymin Land Forme/Sky Forme), etc. I would assume the answer would generally be no to that because I doubt people are motivated enough to track ~2000 things in a popularity contest.

Apart from that, it's been said several times before that it's pointless. The villager popularity list on here is used for the buying and selling of villagers on the market, so it serves the purpose of letting people know how much money they could expect to be moved around. The Pokemon popularity list would likely not change anything, and would be a novelty that people look at for a minute or two to find where their favorites are ranked, then never look at it again. Does anyone really want to spend hours upon hours of frustrating counting, sorting, checking and re-checking just so people come in, say "heh" and then leave?
