Is there a villager you thought you liked, but just couldn't connect with?

For me, it's Judy. Found her the other day on a Mystery Island, actually like her from the design (mostly her colorful fur) and all and planned to keep her as my snooty villager, but I don't know, she just didn't fit onto my island at all. Ended up replacing her with Monique and don't regret it.

Louie. I thought I'd like him because he reminded me so much of Donkey Kong. But as much as I love Jocks, we simply didn't click...

Blanche for me, I thought she would become my favorite, but idk I just did not click with her that much.. I even tried to force it a bit since I spent A LOT of NMT trying to find her

For me it's Tangy. It's weird, she should be everything I love. Food themed villager, peppy, cat.... but we just didn't gel.

Definitely Audie and Fauna.
They were both in my dreamies list and were both just lacking.
Now I've got Coco and Kabuki who have replaced them.

In my case, it was Margie. I spent a lot of time trying to find her in the campsite and I was so happy when I did! I had her for a little while and tried my best to connect with her, but I just couldn't. I just had 0 sense of friendship with her. I ended up letting her go in favor of Sylvana, so hopefully I can become better friends with her than I did Margie.

This could be a case of "wanting what you didn't have", so once you got her, she didn't seem as valuable to you?

For me, it was Chevre. I had always thought she was just adorable and really wanted her. My husband got her on his island as one of his originals so I was able to get to meet her. Once I did, I was glad I didn't go through a bunch of work to get her on my island. She is cute, but there are others I'd rather have

Audie.

I found her on an island tour when my island was getting full of villagers. I knew she was a popular villager but I wasn't sure HOW popular she was; I never took the time to seek her out but she popped right in like she was always there!

Anyways, I invited her in and I initially adored her design & personality, but it didn't take long for her to just be another villager I'm stuck with. Still chat with her, but when I start searching for my dream villagers, she'll be one of the last to go.

I used to feel this way with Sherb. He just seemed awkward in my island. But I actually grew to really like him after two weeks of keeping him.
I sort of feel this way about Fuchsia. I really like her design and personality, but I had her on my island and she rarely ever left her house.

I’ve had that situation with Fuchsia for a while. She’s one of the three villagers that go out the least on my island. But I started noticing her outside and being more social after a week of having her. Sometimes I just like to reset the game until I see her out.

I kind of feel this way with Zucker. But his house is one of my favorite places in town, and none of the other lazies I'm interested in have a similar exterior

For this game, I took in Bluebear. Thought it would be cool to have her. Ultimately just hated her. Didn't like her design, personality was meh. She was meant for my friend anyways, and now I have to see her daily as my friend and my roommate got her.

Yeah, it was Bud. He had a cool look and I loved the beach theme of his house but he had the jock personality... Which, I get what they were going for, a surfer bro would probably have a jock personality but Jocks have the very high-pitched beeps to their voices which I feel just didn't work well with a lion. I also don't like the sound that plays for the town jingle when interacting with lion villagers, it's super weird and aggressive :/

Raymond :( I guess I got too excited for him due to everyone's hype but... I really don't like him that much.

Mira. I don't connect with the uchi villagers really since I don't particularly like any of their designs but Mira was in my NL town and I loved her. She lived right by me and she's also based off Sailor Venus! I immediately got her into my town in NH since I have her amiibo but it just wasn't the same. She doesn't have any space themed furniture anymore and her colors are even more red than orange now too. She kept picking fights with my other villagers and didn't seem as nice or lively so I ended up letting her go.

Flora. Idk, I thought I'd like her as I love peppies, and flamingos are a favorite animal of mine, but I just couldn't click with her. I think it's mainly because I feel like the peppy personality doesn't suit her, even though I like that personality. She'd make more sense as a normal, imo.

I'm kinda feeling this with Cheri (maybe Coco idk). I loved Cheri in New Leaf and I've liked having her on my island but I've kinda felt that I wouldn't mind letting her go. I have Dotty, another peppy on my island who I got from a mystery Island and so far I liker her more. In terms of Coco, she was a random move in for my first 5 (so she doesn't have her actual interior). She's cute but I don't like how you can't really see expressions on her face but I'm not 100% sold on letting her go yet lol.

I'm actually worried that I'm going to have this reaction to Punchy, if I ever find him.

Lazies were some of my favorites in older games, and Punchy is my favorite Lazy. He was one of my best bros in New Leaf. But with the way they have so drastically changed Lazies, I'm worried his charm will be lost. I absolutely hated Puck when he was around as a starting villager, he constantly teetered between being extremely boring and annoying.

I wonder if I should just forego a Lazy villager all together this time. 😔

Lily in new horizons... she was such a important part of my town in new leaf (paired with prince), but she just wasnt doing it for me in new horizons even though Prince continues to be my child.

I also felt similarly about Poncho, the jock typing just doesn't fit him very well I don't think. Or maybe I have trouble associating jock typing with a cub species.

i have the opposite problem.. i literally love every villager that comes through... even the ones that i didn't plan on loving lol :(

I found Merengue on a mystery island as one of my first 10 villagers. That was the first time I've ever had her in any game, and she was pink and cute, so I thought I would love her. But she was just kind of boring, so I let her go. Same with Melba! I thought she was so cute when I first met her, but when she moved in I rarely ever talked to her and didn't really care to look for her everyday like I did with my other villagers.
