Is there a villager you thought you liked, but just couldn't connect with?

Audie. I was so excited to find her on an island and she's so pretty/colorful. And I loved her the first couple of weeks, but I don't feel as attached to her like I thought I would be and it makes me sad. I'll probably be letting a friend have her.

I feel like that with Zucker. He was my 5th villager and moved in randomly. At first I was stoked, but then I thought that I must just not like the Lazy villagers, even though that's always been one of my favorite types. Now I have Beau, though, and I realized that Zucker is just the problem. :p I'm planning on kicking him out soon.
I also felt like that with Melba. I love my other normal villagers (Lolly and Olive) but Melba never once said anything interesting to me :(

One I really didn't connect with at all was Agnes. That was her fault though. In the beginning I always went to see her and say "hi", but after a while I just didn't bother anymore. She never socialized with anyone and barely hung out near the plaza or any other busy area. She either stayed home or took solitary walks along the beach. It was very disappointing because I really liked her design, but she seemed to hate living on my island. When she asked to move - and she was fast with asking that question! - I let her go even though part of me would have liked to get to know her better. She ended up in the void, I hope she found a place where she is happier.
I'm also not as in love with Lucky as I thought I would be, but I still like him. Unlike Agnes, he actually tries to be friends, so I don't blame him for the fact that I don't find him as endearing as expected.

Chevre is seriously so adorable and I had her for a little bit on my previous island and I just wasn't into her like I thought. She left me island pretty early on. Same thing with Cheri. Cheri was cute but I didn't care to visit or talk to her even sooner than Chevre. Just not for me I guess but nothing against either of them.

Coming over here after I posted in your other thread lol

Audie. I really like her design and she is probably the new villager I wanted third most after Sherb and Dom. I just don't think the peppy personality fits wolves that well so I let her go.

It's Audie for me too, and I haven't been able to figure out why, but I think it may be the same reason.

rosie, unfortunately. i had her as a kid in both my gamecube version and wild world, so i have an emotional attachment to her. when i saw her in the campsite i knew i had to invite her. but in new horizons i'm just not connecting with her the way i have in the past. maybe it's because the peppy personality is so strong in this game and i prefer my other peppy, audie. having two, especially of the same subtype, feels like a bit much. i do love her but i'm gonna let her go easily when the time comes.

I honestly feel they changed smug personality so much from new leaf. I definitely saw the change since my dreamie was a smug too and had him in new leaf. I felt he was less charismatic in new horizons. they did smugs dirty.
they honestly seem to have done most personlities dirty, they are all so much more bland then they were in the older games? ):
I'm honestly a little scared to get dreamies now because I don't want to end up not-liking them

I sort of feel this way about Fuchsia. I really like her design and personality, but I had her on my island and she rarely ever left her house. I even moved her home to see if perhaps the location was the problem, but I never saw her interact with any of the other villagers. I felt like she didn't want to be there. I let her leave when she asked, but it wasn't because I didn't like her.

Sometimes I sort of forget she was ever on my island. Like I wonder what it would be like to have two uchi villagers and then I remember "Oh. I did."

Merengue :/ cause my island name and NL town is ichigo, i have her on my island right now but we're just not clicking >-<!

Ribbot randomly appeared at my campsite one day, and I decided that Sprocket would also go well with him, but after buying Sprocket for 500k IGB, I realized that I didn't have a connection with either of them, so Ribbot's gone, and Sprocket's going tomorow

Audie! I loved her design sooooo much. But when she came she just repeated all the same dialogue as my first peppy, Pate, who I fell in love with when she moved in. So, Audie fell kind of flat for me :/

It was Punchy for me. I loved his design and thought that I'd want him to be my lazy with Zucker. But I just didn't feel the connection!

I have a few..

Merengue was one who I had before in New Leaf, I remember she was adorable and she seems to be a favourite with a lot of people, I just don't enjoy talking to her or anything anymore.
Julian.. well, I got him simply because he seems to be a really popular one, but I didn't click with him either.
Molly and Goldie I grabbed from mystery islands because I was really bored of island hopping and they were the cutest ones I'd seen on my two separate island hops endeavors, but didn't connect much with them either. Probably because they weren't who I was after and I just went "yeah that'll do".

Yeah thanks to mystery islands I’ve had a chance to try out quite a few villagers whose designs I liked but never actually was able to have them in a town before (Tad, Ruby, Marina, Pango, Rolf) but so far I’ve let them all go hahaha just wasn’t meant to be after all.

edit actually Ruby is still here but I just
got her photo today so she’ll be moving on soon :p

I think it's starting to be Marina which makes me sad bc she's giving me CF nostalgia but it's alright because I think I'm starting to really love Fauna (they're both normals)

Audie 100%. I was so excited to get her but I just really have not connected. She’s always working out and it’s kinda annoying for a Peppy tbh

Zucker. It's not his fault. I already have a lazy of the same subtype on my island I love very much, Rex. When Zucker came and started to repeat everything Rex was saying, I thought he's kinda fake. He's still adorable as hell though. I'm keeping him for a bit longer just because he's a cute takoyaki.

I kinda feel that the ones I amiibo in are often not as lovable as the ones I chance upon on the mystery islands. Idk why. I guess it's because the ones we choose to move in don't live up to the hype, while the ones we meet on the islands grow on us gradually.
