Is there a villager you thought you liked, but just couldn't connect with?

I'm a big believer in the villager you have will not be the same as the next copy of the same villager. Different experiences, different gifts, etc can really make you appreciate a character.

For me, it would have to be Alice. I saw her when inviting the first 10 villagers to my town and I invited her cuz she was kinda cute but she's boring af.

I really love Olivia, but for some reason I wasn't able to connect with her in this game. I've been trying to decide which villagers I want on my island based on the ones I actually connect with instead of just ones I've liked in the past. Plus, this way I connected with Whitney who I never connected with in past games. I had a plan for my island, not really sure those are going to be the villagers I actually end up with at this point!

Fauna, unfortunately. She was one of my dreamies in NL, but I found her kind of bland now...

Hazel, kinda. When i started my island i wanted to have at least one starter that i liked, and Hazel was at my top picks for an uchi villager, but my feelings for her keep changing. One day i will feel attached to her and wanna keep her, and the next i will be like whatever, girl, you can leave lol. It is weird to me because sometimes i end up feeling attached to villagers after having them around for a while, even if i dont wanna keep them, and Hazel was even someone who i actually went out of my way to get! Maybe i just need more time.

Audie. I really like her design and she is probably the new villager I wanted third most after Sherb and Dom. I just don't think the peppy personality fits wolves that well so I let her go.

merengue!! maybe it cos she's normal--but i have a lot of normals on my island but she just seemed the boring-est(??) i really thought i'd connect with her since i liked her design but nope ;_;

Beau. I had him on NL. But it just isn’t the same. I think I will really try hard to meet new villagers.

Sherb. I love his design and I thought we would be mates but I found him bland and it certainly didn’t help that he was repeating dialogue I had just heard from my other lazy.

We just never seemed to connect so I let him go.

I really wanted Punchy, but after getting him he was so similar to Erik I didn't connect with him as much. I don't dislike him or anything and still enjoy him being on my island, but when he pings to leave after giving me his picture I will let him go.

I remember wanting Diana so badly in NL, and when I finally got her, and this could be partially because she lived far away from my other villagers and just generally far from areas I typically went through, I just remember never really talking to her, and when I did, I just didn't get warm fuzzy feelings ;-; With that being said, if I stumble across Diana in NH I probably won't hesitate to take her lol

I honestly feel they changed smug personality so much from new leaf. I definitely saw the change since my dreamie was a smug too and had him in new leaf. I felt he was less charismatic in new horizons. they did smugs dirty.

Cube for me. I thought I would love a penguin villager, but he just isn’t jiving with me. Still hasn’t asked to leave though so I guess I’m stuck with him for a while lol.

Colton, rod, and to a degree, julian. Like i still love them but i definitely couldn't connect with them to the degree i have with the rest, so i'll be switching them out once they ask to move.

I found both Raymond and Audie by chance, and ended up getting rid of both of them.

I thought I'd really like them because of how hyped up they are but personally I just don't care too much for their designs or anything (The only thing I did like was that Raymonds house matched my town theme perfectly lol)

I ended up trading Raymond for only a few seasonal DIY's because I felt too bad to charge someone 800 tickets for him LOL, plus what would you even do with all those tickets?

Budd. He was my starter villager so I obviously had to love him, but I felt like he refused to acknowledge me & get actually comfy in his own home even when I gave him so many items ):

Sherb. He's very cute I kept him a very long time trying to love him. I recently got hopkins and its a relief. Sherb is cute why is he being wierd I just. Id rather have a creepy lazy. Like Lucky or Hopkins than a cute one. If your going to act like this is Close Encounters or whatever...Look creepy

Jacob for me. Found him on a Mystery Island and took him in because I'd never seen him before. He is cute but his house is a literal trash heap. Lazy is my favorite personality type but I still don't feel connected to Jacob like I am with other lazies. He hasn't asked to move yet, but, when he does I'll let him go.
