Is there a reason to have all 8 personalities?

I think each personality only actually has 1 emote exclusive to them at high friendship, and then a bunch of other emotes they will tend to teach, but they can teach others if you're missing certain personalities.

If you have Amiibos, you can pretty easily circumvent the DIY issue by inviting one of your missing personalities every day to the campsite and seeing what DIY they offer you. As long as you never complete their requests, they'll keep offering DIYs forever.

if you want diverse dialogue and more reactions and diy recipes then go ahead though other than that i say it's not really worth it

For me it's all about the dialogue variety. DIY recipes and reactions are neat as well but nothing that would impact my choice. Just pick the villagers you like.

i think the main reasons for having all 8 personalities are the personality-locked diys and reactions. the diys you can always buy or trade for but it might be wise to have all 8 personalities until you at least have all the reactions unlocked or at least the ones from the personality/s that you don’t intend on having permanently ;u;

I added a sisterly for diys, reactions and I was sick of getting terrariums from having three normals.

I hate having that too! My problem is that I don’t like any of the sisterly villager designs and Vesta is so adorable despite the fact that I already have two normals. Eunice is my favorite and I really don’t want to get rid of June.

The main reason I'd get all personalities is for the dialogue! A lot of people are saying for reactions and d.i.ys but they're pretty secondary to me. I'd just go on Nookazon if I'm looking for a specific d.i.y.
The dialogue is pretty important to me. I tend to get really bored if the dialogue is repetitive. This happened especially in NL where I could almost remember all the interactions :')
