Is the dream suite worth it?

I haven't gotten the dream suite yet even though I unlocked it when I first started playing. I don't really want a DA so I've never seen the point.

Lately, though, I've been wondering... what are the pros of having a dream suite? I'm not that interested in getting patterns but I've been thinking that it would be really helpful to be able to see what different villagers look like without having to visit people or waiting for them to show up on my campsite.

The Dream Suite is handy if you're looking for inspiration for your own town. It gives you a rather good idea of what you want before putting down paths. If you decide to not use patterns, there are some wonderful towns with all-natural paths which are equally lovely to look at and check out for yourself.

If you're into collecting the badges then there are ones I think for visiting other people's dream towns and having people visit yours. There aren't really cons of it, I don't think.

Thanks for the replies. I think I might get one now. Once I build it, do I immediately have to create a DA? I've been redecorating my town because I got bored so it's a mess and I'd rather not have a DA reflecting that.

Definitely. Not only you can share off your town to the others online, but you can see others' towns and appreciate the work they have done.

No, you don't. I didn't get a DA until this summer and I started my town in last December.

there's one for visiting (50 bronze, 200 silver, 500 gold), but none for being visited

Nope.

iirc, you can even visit other towns without uploading your own

Once again, thanks. I'm glad I don't have to get a DA myself for some time. I think I'm going to get Isabelle to put up the gyroid now, since I really want to go check out some towns and see what villagers I like but haven't met yet look like.

The badges thing is really cool. I might start making more of an effort to collect badges so that's good to know.

I really enjoy visiting the towns of people I "meet" here. That and running through flowers and eating ice cream! It's just great to run, run, run sometimes.

You can see the progress of other towns and you can absolutely waste your free time looking at pretty towns. The only con is 200k-ish bells, but really with the island and the exchange rates and whatever there's no loss.

Heck yeah! It's frickin awesome! I love seeing themed towns, towns that have amazing paths that inspires me! Whenever you're bored you can go there! I love it!

I agree, I would build it for the sake of making Main Street look nice. Otherwise it just fells incomplete in my opinion.

People also use dream towns to look at villagers before they decide if they want them or not. For example, you might like the idea of having Merengue, but you might then see her in a dream town and decide you don't like her that much. I find it very useful to do this to save myself buying a villager that I'd end up not liking.
