Is that normal ?

Me and my friend decided to reset our town together to have some motivation and everything was going okay.
But 4 days after we started I saw Cherry's house being built, I mean okay I don't like her but why not.

So when the next day I went to see her and she literally told me "Hey I'm Cherry ! I come from Aki !" Or something of the sort.
I was confused since Aki was my friends' town she just deleted ??? And ? I never even in my previous town went in Aki to get Cherry, I never even met nor talked to her !

I'm a bit confused right now. She moved now but I still wanna know what caused this ?

Are you friends in real life? Villagers can enter your town through Streetpass, I believe.

It's also possible that the villager moved out of your friends town right before it was deleted, and so she was floating around in the "void" and your town picked her up. That's happened to me at least once, and I've heard of it happening to others.

After doing a bit of research online, it is confirmed that you can pick up villagers via streetpass. Now I've never had that happen but it is definitely possible.

That's weird cuz she had Cherry a loooooong time ago, like she actually hacked her town so she changed all of the villagers and Cherry was kicked out but it has been such a long time so...wow

villagers in the void are just weird sometimes. once lobo moved in from my friend's town, champs, and he eventually moved out of my town. he ended up in my other friend's town, but he said that he came from champs. i don't think villagers only remember the first town they were in...

yeah i've had that happen to me. i had room in glory and ended up getting punchy from my sister's town even though punchy had moved out a LONG time ago, but was still in her void because she had only moved out two other villagers since then. i wasn't too excited when i found that out =-='' it was because of streetpass

A villager from your friends void most likely just latched onto your game before you both reset, now they moved in since you have a town with a free slot open.

I live with someone who plays ACNL, and we actually had to turn our streetpasses off when we were trying to fill our towns with better villagers. We ended up accidentally swapping the same villagers we didn't want between eachother over and over because we kept streetpassing eachother. I even had his villagers move in to my town MONTHS after they moved out in HIS game once I had free slots open lol. It's super annoying.

I usually never have a spot open anymore, since I use amiibo cards for all my move ins. I am so thankful they made amiibo cards for this reason. It makes everything so much easier lol. It's kinda sad that BTF activity kinda died off since amiibo has been a thing for acnl tho. At least compared to how active it was beforehand.

100% agree with cleoquartz.
When I started playing ACNL my husband (then fiance) and I streetpassed all the time, so I got swamped with all his unwanted villagers and inadvertently got stuck with another friend's rejects over wifi. Despite that friend TT'ing several out in a day at times, it seemed like they still came in a sequence.

I was kind of discouraged, as it kept me from getting villagers I wanted.
Actually, it's the reason I got a second copy of the game to begin with, so I could get people's rejects sent there instead and finally get villagers I wanted in my main town. lol

Nowadays, amiibo cards are the best.
Literally how I've gotten my new third town very close to ideal on villagers in just a few weeks so far.

It is quite normal. She jumped out of your friends void and into your town and was there before the deletion took place. As soon as you left your friends town, she was already coming home with you. So the deletion didn't affect her because she no longer registered in Aki. It's sweet that a bit of your friends deleted town will live on in yours. This happened to early on when I deleted a town. It had Stitches and he moved out, breaking my heart. So I decided to delete the town and begin again. Lo and behold, two days later Stitches shows up in my daughter's town! She had visited to help me clean before the deletion and he was still in my void and jumped to her town of Unknown! That was years ago and he is still there
