Is TF2 any good?

I'm thinking about buying TF2 for the PC. Do any of you guys recommend it on PC? I'm big on First Person Shooters and I heard this game is an awesome FPS. Sorry if this counts as a useless thread somewhat.

I have heard good things about it, but I personally have never played it. I would be curious if the stories on it I've heard are true. Would be interested in getting it

I play it, well, barely since I'm busy with school projects but, it's really fun.
If you're in the borderline of getting it, try visiting the Steam website sometime, as they have sales sometimes where they offer a team Team Fortress 2 for free during the weekends and the retail price is also cut in half during that time.
