Is Nooks Cranny closed for a day when you first build it?

On my second island I'm gathering materials to build the shop, and I have enough, but I don't want to give them to Timmy yet because I'm worried that I won't be able to buy candy tomorrow if the shop has to be closed for a day. I only have 3 or 4 pieces of candy, so I can't afford to lose a day. Does anyone remember what happens at this part of the game? Will the shop automatically open tomorrow, or will it be in a green construction tent for 1 day like the museum?

Hi, useless reply as I honestly don’t remember if you need candy tomorrow you are welcome to come and get some at mine

i believe the shop will be open the very next day after you give him the materials, but like the poster above me, if you still need candy you’re more than welcome to come buy it at my shop!

I donated the last materials and placed the kit I got. I think it will work out because it's not a green tent like the museum currently is. It looks like when a villager's house is an empty plot, so hopefully the shop will be there tomorrow.

Also I just talked to Timmy after placing the kit and he said the shop will open tomorrow!
