I know a girl who is terrified of the Jurassic Park franchise. She refuses to watch any of the movies and considers them to be in the horror genre. It kind of surprised me because I never really heard of anyone being scared of JP. I guess there are some tense scenes but I never found anything to be horrifying. I remember watching the movies when I was younger than five and I didn't find them scary. Maybe I'm just weird...

Do you think the Jurassic Park franchise is scary?

No.
I think some people (young young people.) might think it's scary cause loud noises and large animals eating people.

We're talking about the old ones right? It's definitely suspenseful, but to put it in the horror genre is ridiculous.

I saw the original when I was very young and never found anything in it scary. That said, I've always been a big horror movie fan, and I've never actually been scared of a movie.

Fear is weird and personal. I find a ton of things that many people report themselves to be scared of to be very tame, bland, and silly. I don't look down on others for their fear of these things, but I cannot make sense of those fears either.

no, but i understand if people are scared. i just don't see anything to be scared about in jurassic park

I watched the first few movies when I was a kid and I was freaked out by them. Mainly the dinosaurs tearing people apart. But now that I'm older, they're not scary at all.

Personally to me, it's not that scary. However, I think some of the scenarios can be pretty terrifying. The idea of being locked in a room with two raptors trying to eat me isn't very pleasant. In that aspect, I can see picturing yourself in the movie being pretty scary, but in general? No.

I've watch them all and imo it's not scary but I do know some people who do think it's scary I guess it just depends on what scares you.

Not even remotely, and I'm kind of a horror movie aficionado. Sure, the films can be classified as suspenseful and tense at certain moments, but a horror movie? Um, no.

Still, if someone is terrified of it...to each their own. *shrug*

Unless you're like scared of dinosaurs it's not scary

Same with Chucky, it's scary if you're scared of dolls but other than that it's really not at all

Or like jaws is only scary if you're scared of sharks

i definitely don't consider it horror , but maybe they have some sort of phobia like of reptiles or claws or something
i remember watching it when i was really young and i never felt scared but i've always loved dinosaurs so it's not the same situation

Oh yeah, it can be scary for younger viewers and such, but it doesn't seem scary enough to be a horror movie, seems more like action, adventure, thrilling suspense xD

I can see why it would be scary to some people; there are a lot of loud noises and sudden movements, and I mean, people do get eaten. We saw the new movie, Jurassic World, in theaters and my younger sister (she's not that young, older than 10) was scared. However I didn't find it scary, and I definitely wouldn't consider it horror.

No, it's not that scary. I've seen way worse things than Jurassic Park. The only time it would be scary, is if little kids watched it who were easily scared.
