Is it worth the trouble to cycle him back?

I had let my beloved Pietro go due to bad plotting and now am starting to rethink some of my dreamies in town and am thinking of moving some of them out to bring in some new faces around town. Julian was my smug replacement and i like him don't get me wrong but i really miss having my funny clown sheep around. I checked my letters and i am exactly 1/4 of the way through cycling 16 for him. I plan on kicking Papi and Julian as I already have a lazy i prefer over Papi and i never really connected with him and two, Pietro would be replacing Julian (who has already tried to leave several times on his own) and would make it easier for me to cycle them out as i would have a 1/5 chance someone i am cycling out will move out.

Just a few questions:
1. is it worth it if you have done it before?
2. is it when 16 move in or 16 move out?
3. should i risk TTing to get the villagers out faster or not since i want to keep everyone else.

I think it would be worth cycling to get him back, if you really miss him.I believe you need to move out 16 villagers first.I had a little note book with a list of all the ones that moved out. This helped me keep track of how many more needed to move. I also time traveled. I think it would take too long if you didn't. I just don't have the patience.

I do think it's totally worth the trouble.
A friend of mine had lost Lolly and actually slowly started to abandon her town because she wasn't all to fond of the replacement she got..
As for the question about the 16 villager cycle, I think it's 16 out ;)
TTing might be hard at times, but just remember: As long as you DON'T start op with an existing character and just make a new noob, nothing is permanent, you can just leave the game without consequences!
I use this tactic EVERY time I haven't played in a while, to check if someone moved out! I usually run by ALL of my villagers to check if they are in boxes or not :3 I haven't lost any of my (10!) dreamies this way :D

Haha lol, thanks for using me as an example! x3
Yeah.. I'm the friend that lost Lolly -.- I actually reset my town after that, starting fresh really helped me! But since you still two to kick out, It will probably be easier to cycle 16 then to reset everything ;)

I am aware it's 16 but wasn't sure if it was 16 in/out. I had my letters saved in the order the villagers moved out. I honestly think if i cycle enough it wont be until summer when i have time to really work on getting them out. Plus i'd rather not kill my town in the process

If you're going to do it over the span of a couple weeks? Totally. If you're going to try and speed-cycle like a demon over the course of a couple days? No. Absolutely not.

I did this to get Pashmina back, and while it was great when she finally returned to me, I lost a handful of villagers in the process that I meant to keep. And this was with following all those guides that are hanging around, too, so I figure I must have just made some missteps because I was going at it for so long and it was driving me nuts or something. It eats up a fair amount of time... so if you do it, take it easy.

which method did you use that made you lose them? :/ i would reset if i lost my Sprinkle/Muffy/Chevre..the others if i lost i wouldn't be too cut up about if an accident happened

it takes times the less people you use, I switched between a five day period, like 1st and 6th day when i did it, but its risky if you don't check every single person that is outside and when no one pings... but i did it without losing anyone when i did it for Zucker! lemme know if you need help or other questions....

and when Pietro leaves is 0... so you need 16 other villagers to leave before you can move him back in

I agree with infinikitten, take your time.

I will throw my two cents in since I literally just did exactly what you are describing. In my case, Chief was in a horrible spot and I wanted to move him. So out he went, and I am almost through 16. I just have to move out the remaining 4 villagers and then I should be good to go.

I would say it is worth it if you want to keep your town, but it is very time-consuming and tedious. I TT'ed pretty slowly to be on the safe side, and was a little choosy with who I let in from the campsite because I wanted to make some BTB while cycling. If you are not, and let in any and all randoms, it will be a little quicker. Same goes if you void these villagers and keep cycling. I had to stop every time someone moved out and find them a home on the forum, which took a lot of time (I dislike voiding villagers).

The method I used is the straightforward one, TT day by day, talk to everyone a lot, check for pings, make sure nobody is leaving, etc. The only time this has ever failed me is when I've rushed it. I currently have Octavian in boxes because I was messing around with the clock trying to keep Marshal from moving into a certain spot, basically I rushed and messed up. Otherwise I have never lost a villager and there really is no reason you should unless you are not thorough and get lazy like me, haha.

I stress being careful because if you end up losing another dreamie in the process, this is not something you will want to do twice.

i have never cycled through 16 to get someone back, but i have cycled through my town to get certain villagers out while having only one non-dreamy and was successful. if you use the tt 2 days forward 2 days back method and don't get pings the first two or three resets, i would tt 2 days forward and back again. i know that sounds really risky but i used it plenty of times while trying to get pinky out and i never lost anyone else. the villager moving rumors help too, there's a link here about them, they help me a lot when trying to get someone out. the only way i lost someone (cookie :( ) using this method was by continuously tting two days forward and back for more bush starts, so as long as you're really careful you shouldn't lose anyone!

Okay so this is just a question for those who have done this...do you recommend maybe doing it over the course of a few days where you have time to really work on getting people out? ie. Spring break? Idk when mine is but it shouldn't be much longer. I will probably pop over in the VTP now to make a thread for it...i just have to wait for someone to let me borrow modern clothes for this fashion check/post the villagers in town that will be up for grabs.

also, thank you to those who gave me advice/replied i really appreciate it, i will cycle for him back <3

It?s really worth to cycle a dreamie back, but I would not recommend to time travel. I have seen so many people here posting that they lost other dreamies during tt, then they sometimes end up resetting their town sadly. I wish you good luck with getting him back!
