Is it true that Redd can only visit once a month?

i've time-traveled a month-ish forward and saw him twice, so i think that's a no!

I’ve seen him twice since he got released so I’m guessing I won’t be completing the art gallery very fast since I don’t time travel. I also barely seem to get labelle(I’ve gotten her twice since I started playing the day after NH was released), so I’m guessing It’s all random.

I've been getting him once a week since his debut so no. Sidenote I don't time travel, not sure if or how that affects him visiting.

I've had him only once as well, I guess it really is just RNG.

Wisp on the other hand, he used to be insanely rare in other games but why is he around so much in this one?! Same with Gulliver (although it seems like I'm seeing less of Gulliver now). Lief I see quite frequently, but I barely ever see Labelle or Kicks.

Wow it's a good thing I found this thread... looks like we're all never going to get our museum completed any time soon... I think I've seen him like 1 time outside his introduction. I've opted to buying from him when he visits friends

I've had him on my island twice. Strange thing was that the second time, he wasn't there all day until I went back into the game around midnight and on the opening screen it showed his boat and Redd was there. I don't know why he suddenly decided to visit so late but he did

I've seen reports on Reddit that he has shown up multiple times in April for some people, yet others (myself included) have only seen him twice. It seems to me that he is an infrequent visitor who just depends on RNG to show up. That said, it seems that he comes less often than he did in New Leaf, where I believe he came once a week.

He shouldn't be specifically once a month, but there's something like 8 visitor NPCs competing for 5 slots (Monday - Friday. K.K. has exclusivity on Saturdays and I'm not sure what the story with Sundays is), so it stands to reason any given player isn't going to see one of them for a while on average. Redd does seem more rare but it could just be rng

I know this an going to be an unsatisfactory answer(because people keeping asking this I think sometime in hopes the answer will be different). Its completely randomized besides Daisy mae and KK. I understand it may be frustrating because you could see some npcs more then others. But on the brights other then C.J and Flick and Gulliver . Your able buy art or bushes or carpets or accessories or whatever I forgot to add from other islands too.

If Redd was going to be this rare, they could've given us the option to buy all of his stock at once.

The only way I could fill my museum a lot faster is by TT or art from villagers.

How do you get villagers to send you art?

my cousin has redd every two weeks, so i'm trying to visit him more often

It's entirely random. I've been aiming to get their photos so I keep giving them gifts. When you gain enough friendship with them, they start sending you letters with presents. Sometimes, the presents could be art.

At the rate he shows and the chances of buying a fake, my art collection in the museum should be completed somewhere around the year 2088.....

At some point our villagers are supposed to give us art.

i've had him twice since the update so i'm pretty sure like most people said, it's just rng. it helps that i have a group of irl friends that i can just go over to their islands when redd is over to buy art that way as well and vice versa.
