Is it rude to immediately end a wifi session?

Not really. If anything, I'd be grateful that they decided to immediately end the wifi session after I did what I needed to do. A lot of the times I run into people who kinda drag on ending the session which makes an awkward atmosphere imo.

No, it's not rude. It is practical to end a wifi session instead of letting people leave by the station. When people leave by taking the train, it is time consuming to have to sit through the animation and wait for the game to save. If you host a session, you'll want to end the session instead of waiting for people to leave. I make sure to tell people that I am ending by typing "bye" and "ending"

I feel a little awkward too lol. I'm sorry if I made anyone feel that way that has traded with me. >< I take so long to type good bye, thank you, take care, etc.

At first ~ when I first started trading, I was taken aback when someone ended it quickly and I thought maybe it was a little rude, however, more often than not, the person would at least say good bye and thank me, though I would be too slow to get my thank you and bye out ><

I'm so slow to type as well. That would be why I don't have friend hangouts in my town: it just feels so awkward!

It's really not rude. Other people have better things to do with their time than hang around and emote at me; I prefer they end it, or to end it myself. Not only does it ward off staring at each other, it also guarantees a save so that they definitely have their villagers and items. Walking back to the station manually risks a Resetti error for bad connections. What could possibly be rude about that~?

I don't think it's rude.. it's just faster than waiting for the person to leave then close the gates. Unless someone else is coming over, then I'd politely ask I'm expecting another guest.. Normally after the trade the other person says 'ty' or 'thank you' then I'll say 'bye' or 'I'll end then' or just do waving emote.. sometimes I do dancing emote.. hahah
I actually prefer it when people end the session right after we're done. Sometimes I have multiple trades to do and it can get awkward if they don't end the session quickly and I'm just standing there, after I said thank you and goodbye xD;

I think that there should be like, a universal rule or whatever that whoever is hosting the trade is the one to end the wifi-session. I always find it really awkward when I finish a trade in someone's town and I'm kind of just standing there waiting if they're gonna end it or not... I always say my thanks and what not, but sometimes a minute or two will pass and I'm wondering if I should walk to the station or not. Plus, I don't really want to walk away from them in case they think I'm trying to walk off of their paths or steal things. I don't want to accidentally have them distrust me or give me a bad wifi-rating either, especially since I'd never even dream of doing something like that.

When people trade in my town, I always make sure to thank them as well and try to make it a point to end the session myself, but I do get kind of paranoid that maybe I'm coming across as rude towards them. In general though, I don't think it's rude for them to end the session - I just think we all kinda need an unwritten law that says that the town host ends the session or something! It would make things a bit less awkward~

Sometimes if it's anew member to the BTB and I really like there town, I ask if they want to be playing buddies.
Usually, I just say thank you and bye and end it.

Not rude. It's generally how things are SUPPOSED to go. I find it more awkward if they don't end.

I always wait for a thank you and goodbye before I end it. Most of the time, the people I trade with do the same.

It's done because it takes awhile to talk to porter and it shows more cutscenes if you leave by train. Ending the session is loads faster and easier for both traders.

So it's actually common courtesy that they do that :3 I think it should be a universal rule, like Aki said.

Not really, it is usually understood that it should end after the trade is done. Say bye, and boot 'em. Unless you both want to keep playing, but most people got things to do.

Isn't it more efficient that way? Why is it necessary for someone to walk to the train station after a trade anyway? For one, it might not even be close to the area of trade, and tbh I wouldn't trust any stranger walking through my town without my company even if they have perfect wifi ratings. It's not necessary, it ends the game quickly, and closes the person's gates. Also, it's a trading session, which means people usually want to get their items and have it be done with. It's not a play session really, so I don't see why it'd be rude to end the session after saying your thanks and goodbyes.

in my opinion it just takes a shorter amount of time to end the session instead of waiting for them to talk to the monkey by the gate... it's not rude it's just easier imo?? like it's rude to throw someone out without having sad goodbye or something like that, but i'm never offended if someone throws me out after we are done!

It'd save a lot of time, but adding a 'thank you, see you later,' is always nice. It completes the trade and makes it much less awkward IMO.

People tend to expect the session to be ended after the trade. Or so I've noticed when I've traded with others. I always say thank you and take care, and then end it shortly after. So its not rude or abrupt, but not wasting time either.

I've only had two people in my town who came to adopt villagers. Both times were kind of awkward but I waited for them to take the train and then closed the gates cus I didn't know what else to do :P

I don't think it's rude. I'd rather be kicked out than go to the train station myself. I often kick out people after a trade, not because I'm rude but I like to keep my gates closed and by ending the session, they're gone and gates are closed. Usually before I do this I say thanks and let them know I'm ending the session.

I'm okay with the host ending the session even if they don't say goodbye. I just let them know that we're done and say thank you and that's it. :) Honestly I think it's easier and quicker for them to end the session than have me go to the train station and leave.

i also kick them out after they say bye to me. i don't think it's rude but i hate when other players meander around imo you should get what you came here for then leave so i can get on with my day..

Yup. You'll catch these hands if thank you's and goodbyes aren't exchanged.

This game is about bein comfy imo.

Its not entirely rude, but I like to make some conversation before I shut down and at least tell em I'm closin or give a farewell or whatever.
If anyone starts messing with your town, just flick the wifi switch.
