Is it possible to get dlc items after realease date?

Is getting items like the afternoon tea set or the slushie machine possible now without trading? When I get back from vaycay I can connect to the Internet. So is setting my cycling town game time to the dlc realease dates gonna let me download the items?

The only way to get them is to buy them off of others/trade. The DLC data is sent on those days in real life, so it doesn't matter what your in-game date is set as.

Nope. Doesn't matter what day in game it is. DLC is sent out by Nintendo's time period
Only way to get old DLC that isn't released anymore is via trading

Even time traveling back to the month the DLC came out at doesn't work. The items are set live, rather than automatic, so unfortunately you'll have to buy/trade for them yourself.

Either buy them from someone else, or hope you get lucky and streetpass someone who has the items you want. I had no way of getting a cherry blossom clock before (I didn't have an account here at the time so I couldn't exactly buy one) but I went out one day into town and streetpassed someone who had the clock so I ordered one.
