I'd like to hear people's first-hand experience on getting rid of the last villager to move in (specifically the 10th villager).

I know there has been some threads discussing it before, but the information is conflicting (some say yes, some say no).

Truly appreciate any insight :)

it's def possible, though it might take a while...? Tia was my last move in, and I got her to move out, though other people did ask before she moved. She moved out like 3 months after she moved in though lol

Thanks! Did you get Tia by campsite, Wi-Fi or street pass? Just wondering..

I actually got her from another village lol, she was a dreamie of mine but when I got her I didn't like her as much as I thought I would;;; and I also had really high friendship with her when she moved, I think I got 2 pictures from her, and she mailed me another one after she did move.

I'll just copy-paste what I posted on another thread:

Personally I've had trouble as well with a tenth villager (he was a voided one); Cyrano. I tried everything (befriending him, ignoring him, different TT methods, the new character trick and all that jazz) and nothing worked. He simply never pinged, while all the others did and even several times. I ended up letting another villager move out and lo and behold, the next one to ping to move out was Cyrano!

and

You must have one villager move out (and possibly in, I don't know 'cos I started my clean sweep straight after Joey went) for a your latest move in to go!

Yeah, that confirms what I experienced with Cyrano. It was only after another villager left my town, that he pinged to move. No one moved in first, though. He actually pinged me two days after that other villager had left. So just having a villager move out seems to be sufficient (but I still wonder why other people don't have that problem; just a case of bad luck or something else?).

So, personal experience for me was that it was impossible to get my tenth villager to move. They only pinged AFTER another villager had moved out. But, like you say, there is a lot of conflicting information about this. Good for the people who can make their tenth villager move without any problems, but it CAN be impossible for some players as well.

They won't always ping you first, but you can definitely move out your 10th villager before moving anyone else out. Speaking from personal experience here. It might just take longer.

Lucha who I have had as my tenth villager for a long amount of time, never pinged. I had him since September and he never pinged. In Feb I let one of my villagers go and a month or so he finally pinged (no longer the 10th). It was a shock, but hes only done that once, and hasn't asked to move again since. Right now Big Top is my tenth villager and hasn't pinged yet.

My friend who has Erik as his tenth villager also has never pinged.

Keaton has been my tenth villager for 7 months.I'm convinced that he will never leave unless someone moves out first and a new one moves in.

I've had my tenth villager Coco for one and a half ingame years now and she never pinged.

I heard lots of rumors that it is possible but personally I haven't experiences it myself. Once I TT so hard to make Papi, the 10th move in move out, he never ping even my friendship and his goes up to max! Then I move out one only he finally pinged me! lols~

You have to have a villager move out (or in) BEFORE your latest move-in will move back out (pings from other villagers aren't enough).. I've experienced this first hand with Kid Cat.. He was my latest move in, nobody else moved in or out after he did, and after 2 and a half years of day-by-day TT'ing, he still refused to budge.. But when I left Joey move out, he then moved a while after.. I think you have to get the ball rolling first

You won't believe how much I've TT'd in attempts to get Merengue (my 10th villager at the time) to move out ;-; I finally got her out after I gave up and moved Chrissy out and Tiffany in. I finally have all my dreamies now. Bunnie is now my 10th villager and if she ever asks to move, that's when I'll believe the 10th villager can move out. After all I've been through with Merengue, I highly doubt Bunnie will ever ping to move.

I've never had the 10th ping to move. I had Rocket for months and she never asked to move until I got rid of Sterling. I went way into the future trying to get Erik to move, and he didn't until I moved someone else. I've seen people say their 10th pinged in a week without them even trying, but I've never been that lucky.

Thank you everyone for sharing your experiences... It really helped me save time--I'd have been hopelessly time traveling trying to get lucky...

Seems like majority agree that someone has to move in/out first, so that means the probability of getting 10th villager out is VERY slim.

I've heard a lot of debate on this, and since a lot of people claim both ways, I think it's just a matter of luck. OR there's some sort of glitch that happens to some unlucky peeps and their 10th gets Krazy Glued down, until someone else leaves. And the results of the poll, and the fact that people are still debating this after all this time, supports that theory, IMHO.

I thought I saw Phyllis skulking around town with a bottle of Krazy Glue. That little snake.

You're right, it's a pretty mixed result judging from poll. I didn't look at poll earlier.

But for some who time travel years in game and still can't move the villager out... It implies there's more to it than luck. Maybe each copy of the game is programmed with a unique random probability for villager move-in/out?

As far as i have seen with my own experiences (and even a few others) the most recent move in cannot move out.

I have had a villager move in then ping to move two days later. First ping received! Agnes literally only stayed in my town a week so I didn't even bother to add her to the list of moved-out people in my sig.

(Was it something I said?..)

So there you go. It IS possible. Maybe very rare, but possible. If you're trying to get someone to leave I wouldn't rely on it, since it seems to be so rare that it happens.
