Or do you have to run around on the beach for quite a bit before any fish show up? I've had this problem in every town I've had. Usually I can catch fish pretty quickly on the island, but I feel like I have to work for them to show up on my town's beach. Has any one else noticed this, or am I just being a crazy person?

No, I definitely agree. It's like the game doesn't want to spawn them in until absolutely necessary

I have read before that only so many bugs and fish can be in your town at once.
I am not sure of the specifics or how true it is. Maybe there was just a lot of fish elsewhere but there?

It almost feels like it isn't even worth it to have the beach in town, apart from the fish you can only catch in the colder months. In which case... why make the beaches so big? Why not just have the island be the main beach and then have a smaller beach in the town for catching non-summer fish. And maybe some cliffs for diving. It just makes me feel like the devs are laughing at me having to run the length and width of my town to even spawn anything. >.<

I do tend to have a lot of fish in my river. But it seems like they need to be more evenly spaced between the river and the beach.

Just how the logic of the game handles spawns. A save and continue will refresh the spawns much sooner than wandering around a bit.

I have seen a decrease in bugs on the island when a lot of fish are present. I just scare them away or walk inside the hut/lobby and it resets

My problem isn't with the island, but with my actual town.

Yeah gettin fish to spawn in the ocean is annoying, esp when I'm catching them to donate for my newer towns. They seem to spawn more slowly than the bugs, but that just might be me, considering I can't go ten steps without hearing a cicada of any kind.

i find fishing far quicker than bug catching in my experience.. i don't have too many flowers in town, however!

Its just a normal thing that the game is always is, I had to do it all the time but I haven't went fishing on the beach in awhile.
I really don't like how that part in the game is made.

I had this feeling too the past days. I was on the beach in hope to catch some fishs I need for
the museum and it took like forever till some fishs showed up. And when there were some fishs,
it was those which I already catched before. I run then the beach up and down so that the
game would spawn more fishs, but it takes so long sometimes, it is really frustrating at this
point.
