I've seen plenty of dream towns with campsites and I know that a whole lot of you have them to cycle villagers.

My only problem is... I think the campsite is just hideous when it's not in use :( I don't like the "under construction" look it has when no one is camping in it. That's the entire reason I've avoided putting it in my town, even though I REALLY want to cycle villagers using it.

Anyone else agree, or am I the lone wolf on this one?

i agree i definitely hate it when it's not in use but when my town is completely finished with all the pwps i want i'm going to specifically save the dream suite when it's in use

Oooh, good idea! If you don't mind, what's your dream address? I love seeing finished towns :)

I like how it looks, I built mine and I never even used it for cycling. IMO cycling with the campsite is a waste of time, most of the time you won't even find a villager in there. Resetting trick for plots is much more efficient

Mine is out of the way in the top right corner. Because the waterfall is very close to the top, there's a narrow strip of land from just next to the railway crossing to the edge, and the campsite fits perfectly there. It's also surrounded by fruit trees, so I only go up there to collect those and when there's a camper (I can see if there's a camper from where Cesar lives, his house is directly across the river).

It looks dumb when not in use, but it's certainly worth having for the opportunity to pick up a nice villager. Even if I'm full, I enjoy seeing and interacting with animals I don't have. And, the igloo looks great when it's up.

I don't mind it o: I think it's kinda cool looking, actually. The igloo is my favorite; not the biggest fan of the tent. Maybe I'm just sour because Nook is a jerk.

Wait, when you first start the game on a new day and if you see a camper there and you reset, a different villager will be there? :O

I regret the spot I chose for my campsite. It's in a pretty visible and horrible spot and is always empty. I also hate how it looks when no one's camping

I agree with you OP, but I actually think the big bright tent looks a bit worse than the construction site look.
I actually tucked my campsite directly behind my town hall, so I only really see it when I want to. It works out pretty nice! :)

Yeah, it does look pretty bad. I put mine in a central spot unfortunately, I guess I wasn't thinking properly. The only time it looks good, at least to me, is the igloo. But, I think the advantages it gives overshadow the ugliness.

I don't like the look of it, either, but I surrounded it with trees, flowers, a bench, a fire pit, a fountain, a clock, and a lamp post. Now it looks like a cute little park/bigger campsite. :)

Nope. The only time you are guaranteed a camper is a couple days after it is first built. If you go in as a new character those days, you will always see a camper and it will be different every time you start a new character (assuming you didn't then start up as mayor or an existing character).

The camper resetting trick is to go in as a new character before you have gone in as mayor or an existing character. You go to the campsite. A depressingly high amount of the time, there will be no camper at all. So, you reset, go in as another new character, and keep trying until you see a camper. If you like them, and have room, save and you can take them in. If you don't like them, reset, go in as another new character, and it'll be a different camper or no camper at all.

It's not as confusing as it sounds.

I like the look of the campsite. It looks like a way-station that is ready for visitors. Of course, I also tucked mine in a bend of my river. Around it is a nice number of trees, the bonfire, and the well.

to be honest I am not a fan; if I could demolish it I would. I think it's junky looking, and it's way too central in my town. I coped by building a campground around it and I'm relatively happy with it -- but seriously if I could get rid of it I would. I almost never have an interesting camper (or any camper!) anyway.

campers don't appear in dreams - they're like other visitors, even if you have a camper when you save the dream, people will only see an empty campsite.

I used hate how it looked when it wasn't in use too! But I eventually gave in and haven't looked back since. I've found several really good villagers through the campsite. And as Anjellie said, put flowers around it! It kind of hides the campsite.
