is it just me or is the town name hyrule overused

Yep all of the above are highly overused. I've only had two town names; my current one Snowvile and when I got Wild World I had the name of the town I live in. I don't really mind though people can name their towns whatever they like but I do love seeing unique town names that have a meaning behind them.

I guess a lot of people use it, but a lot of people like Legend of Zelda. And if having a town called Hyrule makes them happy, then good for them. I don't really care what other people call their town because it doesn't affect me.

This! It doesn't matter really. I've visited a number of Paradise's. But not everyone has the same idea of paradise, right?

I called mine Dremoya, but for all I know someone else thought of that ages ago.

True! And people name their own towns what they wish; they don't name them to please other people. Well, people who create their towns for others may, but mostly they do it for themselves.

Should a mother not name her child James or Michael, or some other name simply because others use it? That's nonsense.

If someone is self-conscious and wants their town name to be "different" then perhaps "Hyrule" could be considered "over-used." But for the majority who create the town they want it is not.

Hyrule is a common town name, but given that every "Hyrule" is different and interesting in it's own way, I wouldn't say that the name is overused.

One name that is OU, that surprised me, is Latveria. I mean Lordy, how many people have read the Fantastic Four?

I don't play Legend of Zelda, so I never heard of that name until I had a friend from Hyrule.

My town is named Planetee, its unique ^^

I think it's overused. That's not a reason for someone not to name it that though. As long as they like it, it's fine. Personally though, I'm not a fan of the name (I don't play the games, I might feel differently if I did).

my town name Rosewood is overused, I see it alot but meh, If i restarted I would probably change it but can't be bothered right now!

rosewood was the name of my treatment center so its really weird when i see it as a town name o.o;

Hyrule is higly used, no doubt. I've personally never seen another Glacia or Mistvale (my CF and NL towns respectively). I try to use names that are unique.

I've only played with a few players with towns named Hyrule. I guess I lucked out. Mine is Tamriel from Skyrim, which isn't that original when you think about it...

Yeah a lot of Nintendo places are overused. Hyrule, towns/cities from pok?mon, etc.

Yes, there are many overused town names (Hyrule is only one of them!). Thankfully, I haven't seen my town name pop up anywhere else...yet.

I think there are a lot of overused town names, but hey, it's your town. The name of the town hasn't lessened my enjoyment of visiting, so I say do what you want ^.^
