Don't restart if you have dreamies, if you're anything like me you want to keep the original villager, for me when I pull another villager it just feels like a clone
is it bad i wanna restart to experience everything again?

I started a second island on my Lite yesterday. It's definitely tiresome going through the early game again.
Nothing wrong with this at all!
I personally wouldn't do it though just because the beginning is so long to go through and K.K.'s performance wasn't a big deal to me since I just feel meh about K.K. It was nice to hear the Welcome Horizons song though. I also want to keep my very first, original island forever because, in New Leaf, I had my main island for so long and then I deleted it, wanting to start new, and I regretted it.
I have a second island now on my other Switch, so I don't really need to do it anyway.

Oh man, this is the opposite of what I was hoping to see. XDI started a second island on my Lite yesterday. It's definitely tiresome going through the early game again.
I'm planning to use it to TT (with limitations) but the bug/ fish catching is just going to feel SO boring compared to the first go-around.
Keeping track of whether or not you're encountering something for the first time is definitely harder. God knows how many hermit crabs I ran past before realising, "oh, I've not caught one of you guys yet!"
Oh my gosh, you're right. Easier to get out in front of if you anticipate the problem though, so thank you. XD
Personally unless i absolutely hated my island I wouldn't do it, but if you want to, just go for it. You can always get dreamies again and if it makes the game fun for you, I think restarting is fine. If you ever get to a point of wanting to continue, that's ok too cause you can just keep going.
I'd reset just to hear that song again. Originally I hated it, but I guess I was mostly just mad it played 24/7, and we had to unlock hourly music. The first week's music was actually relaxing, and not as obnoxious or annoying as some of the hourly tracks.
