I was thinking about buying this game but then I took a look at the price- it goes for nearly $60 on amazon! For an Xbox/Playstation game I'd say that's a pretty standard price, but for a DS game? Especially since it's two years old. Even on eBay I couldn't find it for less than $40. Is it that good or should I just pass it up?

I didn't think so, the "tutorial" took to long and essentially killed off most my interest in playing the game. It starts off slower than Animal Crossing New Leaf honestly, I was bored by in-game day five. I heard the next game, Story of Season (NO HARVEST MOON PREFIX) is a lot better in that regard. I'm surprised it's $60 though, I wouldn't pay that much for it.

Yeah I got it new at GameStop for $30 like a year ago.
It's an awesome HM game, I think it's maybe the best in some time. I also never thought the Tutorial was bad at all, it blended in really well, in fact I felt it blended in so well I was unaware I was still in the tutorial year until it ended. But the game is pretty tedious at times, meaning it can go fast or slow depending on what type of chores you've given yourself. I felt in past games the time of day went by slower, or I just had less to do so it was easier but in ANB I use up most of the time in a game day, which means I'm running all over the place getting stuff done before the sun goes down and I pass out from lack of energy hearts (which is also mildly annoying & easily avoidable), but it just depends on what you're looking for in an HM game. But as said above, you do have the option of waiting a few more months for the couple upcoming HM games and making a choice between a couple. But ANB was worth the $30 imo, I still play it.

Yes.
Yes, yes, yes. I also got it for 30. Just buy it used, you really don't need a new copy, do you?
Best farming simulation made to date: super expansive and you spend a lot of time just working on the farm; it's fabulous. Great bachelors this time. Wish there was new dialogue everyday like in RF4, but beggars can't be choosers and I think we're getting there.

It's $29.99 new at Gamestop stores. The game is not available online but there's a store locator..

I really really recommend it. Yes, the spring of the first year is a bit slow, but once you get into summer, things pick up speed so much and you will hardly ever find yourself bored. I love how you get to arrange the village and your farm however you'd like. Plus, all the cute animals, it's hard to resist. now I want to play it again

I liked way better A Tale of Two Towns. Subpar 3D graphics and too colourful world did not do it for me with A New Beginning.

Got it below $30.00 and it is worth it. Year 1 Spring is kinda boring but when you keep playing then you will like it, worth buying.
