I have a bunch of pokemon and a few that are shiny. I got a few from trades and I'm not sure if they're legit. I am transferring all my pokemon to two game cards so I can sell the others. I'd like to just release the ones that are not real shinies.

Could anyone help me figure out if they're real shinies or not? Some of them are too hard to tell for me >.<

I'm not sure how they would be detected, to be honest. I've bred a few 6 IV and 5 IV shinies myself for my own use, but I know that when my cousin gets one, he duplicates it by trading. So they're legit bred shinies, but then he makes copies of them, so I'm not sure how one would tell those ones apart unless the person specifically states they're cloning them. @~@

I dont mean dupes, I mean I want to weed out any potential hacks (not legit shinies, ones that were made using an AR) I'm going to get a pokebank account to dump all my stuff anyway and apparently it weeds them out to an extent.

really unless there's something really *obvious* about it such as a hacked move, caught in an area it doesn't spawn ever, etc, there's really no way to truly tell

GameFreak's detection system for hackmons is flat out garbage, no way a human would fare much better

I once read that GTS automatically scans and detects hacked Pok?mon, but I don't know.

I have been told that if you take them to the Memory Girl to have their memories read, they're hacked if she says "they're trying to remember but can't seem to" or something of that affect.

I've had a few shinymons come my way through the WT and there was always something off about them, either they were lvl 100, had pokerus, perfect IVs, or a combination of all those. Took them to the Memory Girl and she said what I mentioned above for a few of them. Though other obvious factors are OTs. This Adamant flawless shiny pok?rus'd level 100 Giratina I got on WonderTrade had no memories and an OT of PCApp, which is a hacking tool.

how is pokerus an anomaly

I have literal boxes of mons with the disease dating as far back as gen3 and its stupidly easy to spread it too

i once used pokecheck and pokegen to 'create' OP pokemons. The GTS can only detect hacked pokemons if you for example, you create a charizard that knows how to use hydro pump or a lucario that has snow warning for ability. anything that a pokemon is not supposed to have will be detected by the GTS. if you create an OP but also legit pokemon, the GTS will not be able to detect.

The only pokemon that can be identified as hacked as, as people have said, ones which cannot be obtained by any means at all because they have weird moves, are obtained in weird locations, or otherwise. Sure your 6IV ditto may be hacked, but it is possible to get one. Meanwhile a magikarp with hyper beam...

I'm ok at detecting hacks >.< Could you take some pictures or tell us all the information?
(Natures, Ivs, Date bred, what the memory girl says ect.?) It's a lot harder to tell if they are random shinies, but that's quite rare as most powersavers like to create ivs with their shinies(for hacking purposes)

I used to AR EV train (Super Training takes about 1-2 hours and Hordes still take awhile) from what i know there are two ways to make a Shiny Via AR, one is the editing of IVs to make a "legit" Shiny which results in a typically horrible Pokemon or the main way which is to Change the Trainer ID to one which would make a shiny, if the Pokemon came from them ask for the Trainer Id if it doesn't match but has the same name it's an Edited Shiny
