Is anyone else using the early Australian digital release?

Halp! I got the AU eShop version of the game to play early, and was wondering if anyone else was doing the same. It's past 9pm on the 19th over there, and am really hoping it's going to unlock for me in NA when it's their midnight.

Anyone else doing this? Idk what I'd do if it doesn't unlock, other than change my system time lol.

On a related note, yesterday I made a deal to loan a second copy of the game to my coworker with no down payment and he could buy it when he had the bells. Today, I'm time travelling. UwU

No, I have the pre-download EUR version. I don't mind waiting just a bit longer for the release, I know that I'll be staying up at midnight tonight playing it.

With any luck, I hope it unlocks just a bit before midnight but I doubt it.

Lol I live in Aus so I will be actually playing right on time. Have fun and nice to seeing people take advantage of the drop in aud...
I am suffering so badly with international orders and etc XD

I'm confused... Are you currently residing in the NA after downloading New Horizons from the AU Eshop?

Unless I'm mistaken, since games aren't region locked, if you're in NA, you're going to be connecting to one of their NA servers. I'm no export on time zones, but that may be 12:00am EST.

I believe if you buy the game on the eshop of the region (in this case Australia) I believe you can play it when Australia copies get released.

I only know this because a friend from the U.K came and visited me around the time the new Fire Emblem came out, and she was able to play it 5 hours before midnight when she was staying with me in the USA. I wasn't able to play it on my console until midnight.

I’m really, really tempted to, but I’m home with my brother and he wants me to wait until midnight with him. I can’t stand waiting :p

I'm doing this with the Japanese version. I have to wait until 11:00 am EST. :p

Thanks.

Is it true you have to make a new eShop account for other regions? Because I'd rather keep my purchases in my NA account.

As someone who did it to see how much Project Diva was in Yen for the switch - yes, you do :/

I was really considering buying the AU version, however I didn’t for two reasons.
1. The gold points
2. I wanted the purchase to be made on my main account. I guess it doesn’t matter, however if something was to happen or if I wanted to redownload, i’d just do it off my main account. I guess I could just add the account I made the purchase on but I like for everything to be in one place.

Thanks.

You have to make a different account and depending on the region they might not accept your card. JP eShop for example didn’t accept any of my cards or even my paypal and wanted me to use a JP card instead.

Thanks for confirming, I knew I read that somewhere.

I actually bought a Japanese 3DS back in 2012 to play New Leaf early. I was able to make the purchase on my card without a problem IIRC.

On a side note, playing Animal Crossing in Japanese when you can't read or speak it is a nightmare. No idea what any villager or other NPC was trying to tell me.

Yeah, no, I want to play terribly bad, but I'd rather play with my own region copy. Less than 15 hours to go!

Update! The game came out at my 9am EST! And not spoiling anything but the game made me choke up in the best way from something in the intro.

I just got off after three hours of playtime. It's currently 3:13AM in Australia.

I bought an AUS version! the game is really amazing! but I live in a country where don't have an official eshop so it's a easy decision
