Is anybody else bothered by the size of the rooms in the house?

every room being the same size in the end for new leaf was kinda trash, tbh

though I do feel they could stand to do expansions for the left/right/back rooms that would make the left/right ones more vertically oriented and the back more horizontal like the 2nd floor and basement

hell, we could take this a step further too and just expand the basement (and perhaps second floor too, though I'm a slight bit mixed there) to a full 10x10

or what about even access to a third floor attic

it'd be similar to like the basement for cube crossing or attic for wild world where you couldn't change the wall/floor, which itself would probably be a unique design just for this area. plus, as it'd be just below the roof, and thus shaped around it, wall hanging options might also be limited to nonexistent, but other furniture could still be placed around the area. perhaps of a horizontal 6-8x8-10 size?

access to it could simply be done with the d-pad left button while on the 2nd floor (and in no other menus, of course), since that directional currently has no usage while inside your home

I wish some of the rooms were bigger but I moved the bedroom upstairs and kitchen into the basement just for more space. The smaller rooms are a spare bedroom, indoor swimming area and a bathroom. I love the size of the main room though 😁

I agree. I would have loved the option to choose each room's size and shape and how much to expand it.

What bothers me even more than the weird room sizes is that we can't choose where the large/small rooms are. Right now, I have my kitchen on my second floor and my living room in the basement because the large rectangular rooms are the only ones that fit all the furniture I wanted for each. And really, it's weird having to go upstairs/downstairs for the two rooms that are generally considered a houses main living spaces. I would much rather have my small rooms: my bedroom, guest room, or even bathroom, on separate floors.

Plus, I have no clue what to use my large, square "main" room for right now. I might make it into a library once I get the bookshelf diy, but even then, it's a bit weird to enter your house and walk straight into the library/office...

I don’t really like the sizes either.. It’s hard if you want to fit one big item in one of the smaller rooms and then you can hardly fit anything else in there. I hate it when I can’t walk around the whole room because an Item is blocking the way!

I like the variety. In NL, I had a horrible time creasing a bath that wasn't cavernous. My bathroom in NH doubles as a laundry room, but it doesn't feel crowded. Same with my kitchen - it feels more lived in.

The 2 large rooms made for fun designs, and I really have 2 in 1 upstairs. I never felt like I could do that without crowding before.

I had a nightmare trying to create a dining room in one of the side rooms. I like a long dining table, and could barely fit anything other than the 2 wedding tables and 8 chairs in. It doesn’t look so bad with art and flowers on the wall but I may redesign it with one table... I could have used the basement room but I want that room for my vault. So yeah, it’s annoying.

I love the sizes of the second floor, main room and basement. The side rooms are harder for me to design with limited space. I keep changing my mind with them since most of what I want to do I don’t have the space for. It would have been nice if you could choose what rooms you wanted to be different sizes.

Please don't use OCD as a descriptive word for being peeved by something. It's insensitive for us people who have it.
Anyways, I find it to be an incredibly odd decision? Many aspects of the game feel very half baked to me, especially this one. Give us a choice to pick out what room shape we want!!

I apologize for the usage of the word! I shall remove it.

I don't mind that some of the rooms are smaller than others, but it really does limit what you can do with the rooms. I chose to make the smaller rooms (the righthand side room, and the room all the way to the back on the first floor) the bathroom and a little office area. It's fine that both of these are small!

I'd love more rooms on the top/attic floor or at the basement level. There's not enough space to display everything I have in storage! Hopefully they'll let us upgrade for more rooms in the future!

We need an update/expansion in the style of Happy Home Designer, that's what we need. I don't care if it's by paid DLC. I get the 3DS had limitations but I'm sure the Switch can handle it and if they instead set both games apart and make it its own game again, a HHD2 or whatever, I'll be livid.

It bothers me a lot too. I really want to decorate them but have a hard time doing so because the rooms are small and with how much stuff I want to cram in them they end up looking really cramped. :/
I’d prefer it if the rooms were the same size as the ones in Harvey’s, or maybe even slightly bigger.
Anyway, hope that in some future updates they’d include room expansions! I don’t care how much bells they would cost. I just really need more space lol.

I'm still finding it difficult to decorate the small rooms, but I like the large rooms upstairs and downstairs. Even my main room I'm slightly struggling with. But if we could choose our house room layout.. That would be some big brain stuff right there.
