Is a 3DS XL good?

I love the 3DSXL because of my eyesight. I also have problems with my right hand and it doesn't bother me.

When I wanted to buy one they let me test it at the Best Buy. Back than they had the 3DSXL locked up in the back room.
Just the small 3DS to try.

I highly recommend getting the 3DS XL as I never really got too into playing my handheld games until I got my 3DS XL, as it seriously makes playing games 10 times better. It's also perfect for long road trips as the battery life is longer. I really just like the feel of it better too, I wasn't too fond of the original 3DS, but now I could not imagine a life without a 3DS XL!

Well to be honest, other than the exclusive events in ACNL.
I want to try out Flipnote Studio 3D....because that app is STILL not out in America yet, and it's now been over a year since they delayed it....What is this, the Half-Life 3 of Nintendo?

It's never coming out, I thought that much was obvious. Didn't they shutter the online servers for it in Japan too? They're not bringing it over after the Swapnote fiasco and the "Think of the Children" mentality. Because of that mentality, they're not going to release it over here because they don't want kids to accidentally download a sketch that contains human gentials. The fact that Miiverse still exists despite the amount of people constantly breaking ToS is amazing, I figured they'd have shuttered it too by now.

@OP: If you're really just getting it for Japanese New Leaf, I gotta agree with Mariah on skipping it. :/ Plenty of ways to get the things you want now without needing to purchase an entirely new 3DS plus New Leaf. If you were considering this purchase for more than just that, then by all means go for it.

I'm torn. I have both my original 3DS and the XL. I find the build quality and general feeling of the 3DS to be overall better. It just feels like more mature of a system to me. The XL just feels cheaper to me, though I know it's not really. Obviously, the screen on the XL is much more enjoyable to view due to it's size and the extra battery life gives you more time to play on a long trip. The 3DS has the advantage of being able to slide into pockets easier too if you don't already carry it in a bag.
