Is 9 villagers enough for toy day?

Goose recently moved out of my town so I'm down to nine villagers. So far, nobody has moved in yet and I'm a tad worried that I might only have 9 villagers by the time Toy Day rolls around. Will this affect my ability to get the reward for delivering presents?

Wait...If my void is clear, does that mean I wont get a 9th villager?
Also, how do I make sure my void is clear xD

Nope! I just did my first Toy Day as a test run and I only had nine villagers! And I got Jingle's picture and the festive wreath when I finished!

So long as you get all your villagers presents correct it won't affect it at all. The amount of villagers shouldn't make a difference at all.

You can clear your void by visiting someone who has 10 villagers.

No one moves in when you are at villager 9 but you can pick them up from someone else's void or from the camp or someone else's town in general. They do not automatically move in until you are at 7 or 8 villagers.

Wait really? Does this mean I can stop checking my town with a "side" character every morning?

I'm at 9 villagers, as far as I know it as DarkCharliXo states - I'm not checking daily with a new save file.
I'm trying for a 'reasonable' (well what I think is reasonable) villager via the campsite.
I do not streetpass with the game, otherwise I could get a random move in as the 10th. (from someone I streetpass with who has acnl)
But as said the 10th villager won't be a game generated random move in.
