I feel the same OTL Normal used to be my faves and at one point I had three in NH, but they bore me to death so when Tia asked to move I let her. Bertha will be next even though I really love her. Merengue will stay bc she’s one of my NL originals and she has some unique dialogue. But yeah they definitely nuked their personality

I currently have 3 normals, 2 crankies and no smugs. I will replace one of my normals with a smug because I need at least one of each personality.
I have no problem with normals being "vanilla" as some say. Even though my preferred personality is Cranky, I feel like normals are very ok.
I could eventually see myself with just one normal on the island, but I would need to replace them with another female villager (to keep the 5/5 ratio between males and females), and I would probably choose between a snooty or a peppy, since the other option (Uchi) doesn't have many villagers I like, and I already have the Uchi I like the most.

Imo, normals are probably the personality to have 3 of (if you wanted any to be tripled up). They don't have a specific quirk which makes having multiples fine, just can get boring if you aren't into the tame personality. I had 3 normals before and found it perfectly fine.
I'm probably going to have just Skye and Coco as my normals and cycle them out if I find another normal that I really like.

Even then, I have 2 normals right now (Poppy and Gala) and their dialogue already gets really repetitive so I probably wouldn't like 3 normals honestly.

That's too much. Imagine having 3 lqzy villagers in your island talking about the bugs that talk to them in their sleep. oof something that really gets tiring but I can't let them go. I think I have 3 normals in my second town in new leaf but I never found it that bad
