Team Rocket, a notorious feared gang which terrorised the region of Kanto. They had gone on for many years mostly unchallenged. With a powerfull leader who was unstoppable. Many men and women joined the gang to claim the fortune, power and respect it offered, often gaining it almost instantly. One of theese grunts however was different.
*Pant Pant*
"God damn it...Late for the Team Rocket sign-up?! I shouldn't of told my mum...She scolded me so bad I lost track of time!" The young man thought as he ran through the meadow on Five Island. He was tall and slim with blonde hair, at this wearing torn black jeans, a pair of sneakers and a plain T shirt and a green messenger bag which looked nearly empty anyway, minus some spare PokéDollars and his trainercard. On his belt a single Ultra ball rested, seemed odd to see him with no other Pokémon in a place like this. As he rounded the corner a pair of dark shadows lunged at him, Pokéballs in hand.
"STOP RIGHT THERE!" One of them shouted, coming forward to show the much feared black Team Rocket uniform as his partner did the same, both of them eyeing the man before them. "What're you doing here?" He asked with a smirk.
*pant...Pant* "I...I want to join Team Rocket...I..I'm sorry I'm late already!" The young man said, straightening up quickly with a salute. The two grunts looked at each other dumbfounded, took another glance at the man then fell about laughing.
"YOU?! But you only have 1 Pokémon! What good would you do?!" One of them said, resting against a tree trunk as he laughed. After a few moments they regained composure, though smug grins remained. "How about this" one of them said, leaning in. "If you beat us we'll let you pass and join. IF you don't we take your cash and your Pokémon."
The man took only a few seconds in deciding. "OK! BATTLE!" He said, jumping back and pulling out the Ultra ball, causing the two grunts to smirk wider.
"Cocky..Shame it'll be short lived." one of them said, before throwing his Pokéball to the ground in unison with his partner.
