So, I'm starting to get the villagers for my new town rounded up, but I have absolutely no furniture/interior ideas for my mayor's house! The only room I can really think of is the main room, in which I'm using the rococo set, customized in the gothic black... Or not, I may change it back once I get Cyrus...and the catalog...

But, I should probably explain my town and mayor first! In the daytime, Noche isn't anything special, but at night, it shows off a great display of lights via its illuminated statues! Its mayor, Yulia, was always sensitive to incredibly bright lights, and her parents were very involved in space exploration. When she went off on her own and became mayor, she decided to mix her preference for darkness with her parents' love for space. The illuminated objects are supposed to represent stars, and the color of the villagers represent the galaxy. And with a Maddie twist, it has Splatoon stuff in it.

As for the interior, I want the house to look relatively intimidating and almost mysterious, except for the basement, which is usually out of bounds. That would be the mayor's real bedroom, which is incredibly comfortable and informal, sort of like an average bedroom. That's where most of the Splatoon stuff would be, too.

If anyone has ideas, please lmk!

For mysterious and intimidating, I've always liked the creepy set. You can mix it with the gothic black rococo set or the classic set refurbished in either violet brown or chocolate.

Since your theme is space, what about a moon room? There are lots of different ways you go with that. You could make it lunar themed like you're on the moon or use the galaxy floor to make it like you're in space or do a dark backyard with blue lighting and the moon floating in the middle.

Other mysterious room ideas:
- A room full of ominous looking statues
- A haunted mansion room with suits of armor
- An alchemy or mad scientist lab
- A witch or sorcery room

Hopefully, these ideas can give you some inspiration. I think you have a really cool theme.

I would also look for furniture that gives off it's own odd-colored light (like the mush lamps and jellyfish lamp) to make the rooms seem dim and mysterious Maybe some fireplaces too. Basically anything not lit with a big bright lamp with white light. Keep the rooms partially in shadow with an eerie glow from the furniture.

The robo-lamp's green light would be good, too!

You could also decorate with ore, especially silver, amethyst, sapphire, and maybe ruby to give it an otherworldly feel.

the black and red exotic series could be nice, too... i really like the idea of the ores and the lamps (especially the green robo lamp light). i use the number lamps a lot and you could spell out maps of stars (i forget that's that called... coordinates?) or just put a lot of 0's in (because round)
