I'm always a bit insecure when deciding new house placements. Fauna just put her house up and I'm afraid that I'll end up regretting where I decided. Since my landscaping is a work in progress, I'm afraid villager houses might ruin an idea I had, etc etc, even though I liked where they houses were in first place.

O'Hare and Coco are great examples. I adored their house placement first, now O'Hare is too awkwardly close to the train station and Coco could be in a much much better place.

sigh ): is there any good tutorial or tips for house placement? Something to make the decision easier? I didn't really want to make them all line up in a single area or anything like that.

this is why its a good idea to plan out your town first.
landscape around the houses and try to make it work. if you like o'hare and coco a lot and dont want to risk losing them forever, then just deal with their house placement.

I somewhat planned it, but ended up changing a few things after I started playing again and this happened haha

I might send them to my other town and then cycle them, I just didn't want to make the same mistake again!

I don't think there's much point in stressing out over villager placement, unless they're in really bad spots. For the future ones, it's good to have a general idea, but if you're going to worry constantly about whether you'll end up hating their placement if you change your mind about the decoration, you won't get to play the game at all. If you ever change your mind and a villager's house is in the way of the new plans, you can just try to work around them. That's half of the fun for me. :)

When it comes to villagers whose house placement you dislike right now, how bad is it? Unless it's so bad that you feel unmotivated or hate your town because of it, I wouldn't move them out. You can try to make the best of it. My villagers haven't always placed their houses in the prettiest way, but I just try to make the most out of it by decorating the space around them or something. :)
