So yesterday, right after I did the update, when I tried to get into my town it stayed on the black loading screen with the thiny island on the bottom for like. Maybe 8 minutes? It was super weird but I figured "maybe its just a one time thing cuz update, whatever"
But this morning when I tried to start up the game, it did the same thing! And now its doing it again and taking way too long! Idk if its because of the update or what happened but its starting to get a bit unbearable. Does anyone else have the same issue?
The game always takes about 2 minutes to load in for me if it's the first time I go in that day. Then another minute or so while I wait for Isabelle to load I haven't noticed any difference since the update tho
The only time I have issues with loading is when my internet is not connected properly. I notice that if I don't have Wifi within range the loading times to launch the game THEN load into it are abysmal. You sure you're connected to the internet? If not, go on airplane mode. It makes the loading times pretty quick.
I noticed that loading times were long even before the updates. I saw someone suggest turning on airplane mode and it did indeed speed up. It seems like it has something to do with trying to connect to the internet since loading times for me are fine when my Switch is already connected to Wifi.
Mine seemed longer than usual, like maybe 30 extra seconds or so, but I'm pretty sure the loading screen was only about a minute. 8 minutes seems really long!
I just loaded up my game. It took 35 seconds to hit the town view screen and then once I pressed A to load into the game it took another 18. So 53 seconds total.
Then I TTed to a new day so it would do a full load in of a new day. 41 seconds to the town view screen, 20 seconds until Isabelle started talking, and 9 seconds to load into the game once I was done with her talking. 1 minute and ten seconds total. I'm not having load issues with this game.
I have noticed this. It will also sometimes freeze on loading screens if I enter buildings on friends' islands, forcing me to restart my game. This never happened to me before updating.
If you're experiencing long loading times, you likely just have a lot to load in. We are literally playing an AC game with so much creative freedom! There is a lot of to load in. My loading times are pretty fast, but my town isn't very developed yet--it's still quite the wasteland.
my loading time is super slow as well, idk if its 8 minutes though. I haven't noticed any changes since the update?? my game always take 409583 years to load when i first start it up :/
I haven't noticed this at all. The first load into the main screen takes a min but nothing I really feel is beyond normal. Definitely nothing close to the time you're reporting.
I'd try reaching out to nintendo's support to see what they can look into and say.
