Increase in Visiting Special Characters with the update?

I have so far today had four visiting special characters: Leif, Redd, Celeste, and Wisp. I thought two was the max? Has this changed, or has there always been a possibility of this much overlap?

That's interesting! It may not be counting Leif and Redd since they technically aren't random visitors and it's important you see them both. I also think holiday characters aren't counted because I would have Zipper jumping around with other visitors. I'd be interested to see if this still happens after Redd starts using his boat, I'd love to get so many characters in one day

I've had Celeste, Flick, and Wisp on my island all at once before this update!

Also chiming in to say I don't think it's too abnormal - I've definitely had multiple NPC villagers show up before. I think it makes things more interesting
