Okay, okay, maybe dramatic title.

Kidd moved in from the void, I didn't necessarily mind this, as he formed a natural duo with one of my actual villagers. He informed me of his previous town, but not his mayor, so I can't even thank whichever friend caused this to happen:
HE'S WEARING A SHIRT THAT MAKES HIM LOOK NAKED AND I CAN'T, I CAN'T HAVE HIM IN MY TOWN. EVERYTIME I WALK PAST THAT FREAK HE'S THE ONLY NAKED VILLAGER. And he's smug! He's proud of THIS.

He refuses to offer to move and he's right by Retail, I can't avoid seeing him.

Why did they ever implement picking up villagers from others' void? Getting ones in boxes was an amazing idea, but surprises from friends wasn't. I have Avery blocking my beach slope, the one that connects to the dock, Kidd is walking around naked and flirting with me, and Ribbot moved in from the void today :mad::mad:
Thankfully only Avery's in a bad spot, but Ribbot moved in TODAY, when I had a villager in boxes YESTERDAY.... I didn't even get time to process having 9, before I'm forced to have 10 again !!!

And all of their homes are atrocities, Avery and Kidd's furniture consists of only bugs and fish.... I understand their mayor didn't want them, and was probably spamming requests to get their picture before they kicked them, or letting them buy everything from Retail since they were leaving anyway, BUT NOW I'M STUCK WITH THESE HORRIBLE HOMES.....
God only knows what Ribbot's looks like. :(

I don't TT more than a couple hours, usually just to get trade requests done for others, so picking things up from the void really messes up my town. I don't care if their placements are bad or good, I don't want them period. ;; I only want original villagers that chose my town; I don't enjoy having villagers that talk about other towns and mayors, as they don't feel like they're a part of my town's history anymore. Don't even get me started on how fast these people are destroying my grass, I'm actually considering doing pathways so they can't destroy anymore grass and can continue where they've been going.
Three of my ten villagers are void-move-ins !! And I still have my own villagers I'm trying to kick out. THE MADNESS. End of rant.

TLDR; What's your worst void move in?

I once picked up Fauna from someone’s void... and she moved right in, either in front of ReTail or in the narrow spot next to it/ awful placement either way, especially awful bc I had wanted her at the time :’) But that town is long since gone, and I haven’t really gotten any other void villagers since lol

... I almost want to now, while I’m cycling Callisto... xD just connect w/someone and see what surprises I might get xD

You've only had ONE??? HOW.
Every single time I've had a free spot open, I've gotten something from the void. xD Somehow everyone I trade with, right at the perfect time, always have a villager that's moving/just moved.

I've had a few void move-ins in my towns but they all turned out to be okay.I got Sydney from my other town because I forgot at the time that voided villagers can move to other towns. It turned out well because once she pinged to move somebody adopted her and she finally escaped the void.I got Hugh from a Steetpass but he wound up being better than the villager that had just left.Funny how that happened.I had a Rosie move in from the void and her previous mayor had replaced all of Rosie's original furniture with the Harvest series.I contacted the person I got her from and they said that Rosie was an accidental move-out and the villager they adopted from me was Rosie's replacement.

I've had a couple of nekkid villagers before.I'm glad they weren't smugs:

Ahahaha, I think I gave Marshal to someone while he was wearing a low cut shirt meant for a my mayor, so he definitely had human boobs. I am the worst.

Haha oh my god he?s loving walking around naked in your town. I had a good laugh.

Void move ins can be reallyyyy annoying and i?ve been on both ends of it. I remember I traded with someone and they sent me a very angry message about my villager moving into their town and I felt sooo bad because I really thought I cleared my ?void? but I guess I hadn?t? But honestly it?s a two way street. Doing trades is always risky if [you] have less than 10 villagers because you can?t always assume your trader is visiting 10-villager towns to clear their void. Plus there?s also debates whether this even works as some users have experienced villagers still moving in after their trader supposedly clearing it. It?s like Murphy?s law when it comes to move ins U_U I also learnt that the hard way when a friend?s villager moved into my new town after she visited. I actually think we traded villagers, like mine went to hers and hers went to mine LOL XD I?ve had some good ones though. They were placed in bad spots but still decent villagers I let hang around such as Fang and Benjamin.

After my experiences with random move ins, I always make sure I stay on the same date and absolutely no trading (time travel back to my last played date if i?m in real time) until I know for sure I can pick someone up. I plan this so I don?t have to wait long. This does get a little boring if you want stuff to progress in the game, but it?s really just a safeguard to make sure no time passes until you?re absolutely sure. Of course, not everyone plays this way so accidents can?t be helped.

I hope Kidd puts some clothes on soon!

IT'S CRAZY TO ME THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO HAVE HAD GOOD EXPERIENCES !! Especially regarding the houses, is it only me who's getting Ping-Wastelands ?!

I must say, these are MUCH better than the “snow cone tee” variant though XD

Very rarely trading, keeping villagers at max capacity, and generally working with cycling towns so they usually have a clear void xD

If I laugh at this, am I evil?

I've had a lot of void move ins myself and it's pretty annoying when they plot their homes right over my patterns, bushes, trees, hybrids, ect. I try to plot reset in advance and they don't move in, but as soon as I boot up my game with my MCs, THEN they decide to plot their homes. Pretty frustrating, but I think I'm getting the hang of how to move out newer characters.

As for the shirt, I think you can talk to Isabelle to change it back to the default. Works for catchphrases, too. Thankfully, Nintendo thought ahead on this one.

"IT'S CRAZY TO ME THAT EVERYONE ELSE SEEMS TO HAVE HAD GOOD EXPERIENCES !! Especially regarding the houses, is it only me who's getting Ping-Wastelands ?!" No my friend, this game has so many joys and disappointments that there's enough for everybody. Kidd in your topic caught my eye because he has long been a thorn in my mayor's butt in one of my towns (don't remember which, I have so many). In that town, I was slow to lay down "blockers" and, wouldn't ya know it, Kidd moved in right next door on day 2. It's almost like we share a duplex. Anyhoo, you know what a sty his house is but no matter how much furniture/wallpaper/carpeting I mail him, he refuses to use any of it. Smug, indeed! Sure, I could Amiibo him out but he represents a challenge. I haven't played that town in so long that I can't remember if he's nekkid or not;) My sympathies with your plight are sincere.

I guess I was kinda lucky that I happened to like my voided villagers and they didn't move into a weird spot in my town. After I learned about all the mechanics of villager move-ins I started using my spare/cycling town for moving villagers in and out so I could a-void(!) voided villagers altogether.Still have to plot reset though.

Ah, I'm so sorry this happened to you. I only had a couple move ins, but of course, I didn't do a lot of wifi-ing back then when I did play. I don't really mind that they talk about their old town, but I do agree, I like original villagers who don't move in from voids. Also, why do people think it's so funny to make villagers wear clothing like that? It's so weird... :/

AH, I actually knew about this feature from spam reporting Charlise out of spite, but I forgot in the moment because I was so angry about Ribbot ALSO MOVING IN FROM THE VOID. Ty ty !! He will be spam reported shortly.

Ah, I actually like villagers as neighbors, but I can't say I would be happy about Kidd either ! Especially this version of him. :p On the wallpaper bit, I have long since mailed Hamphrey over and over several wallpaper choices. He writes back every time saying he'll change it. Never does.
This would be fine if his original wallpaper didn't look like a condemned building. I use to have the same stance on the amiibo, back when it was original villagers I didn't want, but these void ins are making me reconsider buying a pack and kicking everyone.

Thank you for your words ! It's okay, mostly wanted to rant about how MANY I've been getting recently. I do multiple trades a day, and my town is still my original town I use, which I guess is my problem. :(

I'm sorry. It must be very frustrating to keep getting other people's rejected villagers.

I don't really do much online play so the only voided villagers I've gotten were from my second town or my husband's town and I always knew they were coming. I've only done a few trades and I was at 10 villagers at the time, so I didn't get any surprises.

As far as I remember, I've only had one void move-in. It was Knox and he decided to be right in front of a bridge, so I kicked him out right away by scanning in Inkwell.
I'm currently only ever visiting one other player and I usually have my town full, so this is why I only got one void move-in so far.

I did a trade on here months ago and afterwards Pietro the evil clown moved in pretty close to my house. Im really not a fan of his so I was pretty annoyed, but these things happen when you trade. Like, I did a trade on reddit a few weeks back and Zell moved from my void to some one else's, and they were saving that spot for their dreamies. Thankfully though I use mostly amiibo cards now (with the exception of Wolfgang and Ankha, I will make them stay in Foraoise forever)

I get them all the time, especially when my son wanted to play with me.
I've had Rocco, Biff, *some* penguin I can't even recall.
But essentially, he only gets really crappy villagers and I always get stuck babysitting them till I can get rid of them too.

Also, if anyone has ever played with me and got stuck with my move outs, I'm incredibly sorry and didn't mean to but I hated them too. Lol
