You can actually use something called "tbt" to buy In Game Bells (IGB) for a really great price! Tbt is the forum's currency and is gained by posting on this website and you can see how much you have in your side bar under "posts." It says you currently have 13 tbt (bells), and someone is currently selling 4 million IGB for only 8 tbt! Here is a link to their shop on this website: link

So the first step would be to post on the thread I linked and say you would like to trade tbt for IGB (you can find conversion info on the first page of their thread for the amount you are looking for). Once they agree, they can help you transfer the tbt to them, and then tell you when you can pick up your IGB in the game through a dodo code (you would need Nintendo online membership for this).
Yup its legit lol! I have actually never gotten scammed on this website, the majority of people on here are super kind and generous! But you should still be careful of course, and something that helps is checking people's "feedback ratings" which is also in their sidebar. In addition to seeing their numerical rating you can see how many people have given them feedback. Generally most people here have 100% which is great, and you should be cautious if someone has below 100. You can click on the number to see a detailed description of the person's ratings and why people rate them what they did.
