Mine broke (I just had the cheap apple ones) so I decided to get some good ones that will last. Of course I dont just want great durability but also awesome sound.
I read some reviews and looked at some websites but it seems there are just too many choices and no reviews specific enough.

So, any suggestions?

I have these Sony ones. They hook around your ear and go into it. They're really nice, and they sound great. $20-$40, though.

yes.

these. they will last you around 6 months if you wear them every day (that's how long mine lasted/what i did) and they are so choice.
they come with a tiny piece of plastic that you put them in to keep them clean/together, which makes them into a nice little necklace at the top.
run the cord that plugs into your ipod under your shirt, and you can wear them under your clothes without looking like a hipster.

they cost ~$30, maybe $40. well worth it, imo. I've had three pairs of these, and I'm going to look/wait for them to go on sale to buy a new pair, as mine have just gone out (lasted longer, ~ a year, but didn't always have them on/listening)

the only drawback, I have no clue what the name of the model is.

right click + open image in a new tab + read the URL might give you the model name or something, it's all gibberish to me.

goodluck.

Skull Candy Ear buds.

Although I prefer over-ear. those are good too.

I would recommend these for the price, (ones i got were $10, and were more or less the same audio quality of the sony ones, if not louder/higher quality) but the wire from the earbud to the plug wasn't as good as the sony one, which is the only reason I'd recommend them over the skull candy ones. (skull candy's wire didn't last as long, but it could just be my personal experience)

if you're used to the ipod ones and don't want the ipod/music/headphones always on, three pairs of skullcandy headphones will last you longer than one pair of the sony ones ($10 if on sale)

the sony's cable is smooth, while the skullcandy's (the pair i had) is rubber-ey, somewhat. it has more friction/traction, which is why i'm guessing mine didn't last as long. (internal wire ended up messing up for whatever reason)

i also have a set of hesh from skullcandy, though I never use them. heh.
