Game Question:

Have you ever imported a town?

I bought another game cartridge. It is the ?Welcome amiibo??and I haven?t started a new town yet. But, Rover and Isabelle were on the train. I was offered an option to move a town to this new game cartridge. It would erase the established town (its data). I did not do it because I wasn?t sure what i would get into.

Can anyone explain?or direct me to a link which explains in more detail? (For example, I want to keep my villager neighbors.)

That's really interesting. I can't think of a reason that you'd want to import a town to a new card (vs. starting over, or just using your old card and updating to the newest version of AC:NL. But I'll lurk here to see if anyone has some solid answers!

It would literally copy over all of your save date to the new Welcome Amiibo version of the cartridge. So your characters, catalog, money, villagers - everything would be exactly the same as it was on your old cartridge. You can't pick and choose only parts to transfer over.

do you kniw why they've given the option to do this? o:

i like the option for nonmayors to become mayors but this seems a little strange, idk.

I am away from the game at this moment.

I got the impression from Rover that it offered me a chance to choose a new town. A different, physical layout of a town. And so I imagined my first town, Applewin. It has oranges for Perfect Fruit. And, maybe, I would like to move to a town with Perfect Apples. But, I don’t know what I would get into. Would all villagers be there—and with their houses placed randomly? What I can do is take another cartridge of a town, which is a temporary one, and experiment with that one. Take a chance.

Thank you to all who respond!
