soooooo. the game has been out for about a month now. have you enjoyed it? no? what are your opinions? personal i like this game the best because of all the new stuff they added to the game. i am also loving the new 3d graphics.

I personally am of the opinion that New Leaf is the most enjoyable Animal Crossing to date. I never played the Game Cube version (gasp). I know, I know, I'm being blasphemous here, but oh well. So, I only speak from the experience that I have.

Wild World was great. It was my first true love. However, it lacked in the variation and fun of events/activities to perform. That didn't keep me from investing hundreds of hours in the game, but I think New Leaf brought one thing to the table that would have pushed Wild World over the edge to greatness; mini games, and LOTS of 'em! The island brings so much variety and fun to break up your day, it's great.

City Folk was really just "meh" in comparison to the other franchise titles. Sure, it looked great, but that's about the only thing that was an improvement for the game to me. It still did soak up hundreds of hours of my life... but I can see New Leaf eating THOUSANDS.

So yeah.

New Leaf.

I have played three of the four games in the poll. The one I didn't play was the Gamecube version.

I adored Wild World. It was my introduction to the AC series and I learned a lot. I put countless hours into my save file and I met some amazing friends through an AC:WW chat room. One gent in particular, Daniel, I stayed in touch with for a good 4-5 years after we first met through AC. I never finished paying off my house, but I adored the game despite not being able to make the best of it.

City Folk... ughh. I feel the game just doesn't work well on the Wii at all. The controller was a pain and twice recently I've tried to go back to it, but I just hate the Wii remote too much to really enjoy the game.

New Leaf is a mind-blower. Even when I can't think of anything else to do that day, I still end up going back to it to play a little more. It's one of those games that I can play for an hour everyday and feel satisfied. It's a great way to both start off and end the day. So far it has kept me amused for just two days off a month - and I'm not bored yet. I love it! I still have lots to unlock still, given that I don't TT, and knowing that there are still more new things to discover around the corner keeps me playing.

I choose... New Leaf!

I chose New Leaf because it fixed all the problems with City Folk (mainly grass destuction) and it has the best graphics out of the whole series. Also, the game added the twist of being the mayor of the town, which I love.

Did you ever try plugging in the classic controller or a gamecube controller? I don't actually know if those were compatible with the game, but it's just a thought I had. :p

I chose new leaf...I have played all version except city folk so I have no opinion on that one but after playing new leaf I don't think I would bother with any of the others again! This version has taken everything that bugged me in the old versions and made it better! The only thing so far that this one is missing is the copy and paste feature in the letter writing section, and that makes writing letters tedious but not that big of a deal!

The Gamecube game is the best in my opinion. New Leaf is a close second, but I just don't get the same feeling that I did with the Gamecube version. It's hard to explain, but there are times when I'm playing New Leaf and I think 'I remember the little bursts of excitement I'd get with the Gamecube version... shame I don't get them with this one"... That sounds weird doesn't it :L Maybe it's because I was younger when I played the original, but yeah, the Gamecube one's the best in my opinion :P

The Gamecube game, it has a feeling that none of the other games, even New Leaf, can replicate.

Sorry, New Leaf- Nothing beats the GC version. New Leaf is a very close second though. c: I love all the new features of New leaf, It definitely brings that "Magical" feeling the GC version brings.

New Leaf, Gamecube, City Folk, Wild World is my order or preference. New Leaf just adds so much, it's almost impossible not to be the best of the best in the franchise! But I still think about my town from the Gamecube days, lol. That was so many years ago, but I still love and remember it. :) But I can see myself sinking a ridiculous amount of hours into New Leaf.

i know exactly what you mean. that happens with me when i play the small ds, the xl just doesn't feel the same. i liked the gamecube version because it felt so new and big and awesome. now that i know what the game is and what it does its not that same feeling.

New Leaf because of the features. GC is just the most nostalgic amazing thing on the planet though... Very close second. :)

New Leaf is the title that I finally have to say has probably surpassed the original GCN version. NL is not a perfect game, and is a clear sign that this series needs to be continued, because there is much room for improvement with what NL added. However, with only a couple of exceptions, NL excels over the GCN version while taking all of the best features of WW and CF, even implementing them better than before.

i think from a "more objective" point of view new leaf is the best feature-wise and all

The best is New Leaf. My favorite is still Wild World though. It was my first and will always hold a special place in my heart.

New Leaf still needs some improvements such as grass wear being optional and the villager dialogue still lacking.

...I couldn't have said that better...did you read my mind or something? XD I'm the exact same...never played GameCube, loved Wild World but they needed activities, thought City Folk was okay...I don't feel so alone anymore! :)
