I just signed on and saw that marshal is in boxes... i didnt even time travel more than a day, how could i have done this omg :'( he never pinged me or anything.. oh well

You could give him to someone who wants him. At least your Marshal will live on in someone else's game.

Exact same happened to me. I ended up resetting my game. Got him again but at least I can't worry he'll move out because he was a 10th villager.

Next time, talk to all of your villagers, one should ping but if you get concerned and they wont ping, ask a villager you know well (so talk to them until they say they need to think), if they don't say any rumours about someone moving out you should be fine.

I lost Chrissy and Olivia once too. Took over a year to get them back.
