it seems as if I only come here to argue, and I'm done with it. I don't find any need for the useless anger and stress that I've been having lately. I'm off to go live in a world where there isn't a set opinion that everyone has to have.

later.

Guess what, your mostly the one causing most of the arguments your in.

Well bye, you were a good, active member.

There is never a set opinion anyone is forced to have at TBT. We (the staff) are fixing the rules up so that serious discussion is allowed 100%, but we haven't come to an agreement yet.

Like OHE said, you're an awesome guy and it's sad to see you leave. Maybe come back some time. ;D

edit: Wait if you're leaving over the music thread argument, than that's just kinda stupid. Just because people disagree with you doesn't mean you're wrong.

As you told me on Steam, bye.

I still get to talk to you on there.

^_^

Is it over the music thing? Something that is purely opinion and that you don't have to agree on at any level?

to clarify, no, it wasn't all over the music thing.

part of it was the music thread because it made me realize that all I do here is argue over opinions, which, as you've said, is stupid. I get into a "debate" just about 3 times a week here, and each one of them stresses me out. So I figured I should get rid of that stress by dropping it completely. A while back I started to try avoiding it by actually avoiding flame war threads, but that obviously didn't work because just about any thread can turn into a huge debate. I mean, someone posted that they got a good grade, and everything is cool, then I checked back a couple hours later, and there's a giant debate about homeschool vs. public school. AGAIN.

I'm not leaving because of one thread, I'm not leaving because of one person, I'm leaving for personal reasons. I feel that I need to make better use of time by having fun and being with friends, rather than debating over opinions with a bunch of people I don't know. I'll still be around Steam, Google Talk, and xfire, so send me an invite if you want to.

You do know that if you try, it IS possible to avoid conflict, and a healthy debate never hurts anyone. That's what I do and I also hang out with friends around me all the time, just don't spend so much time here. You make it sound like you don't spend any time with your friends... Try coming here and having chatting with members rather than even entering these topics and still hang out with friends outside TBT

I've been trying that for 6 months now. Doesn't seem like it's working, eh? I was going to leave 6 months ago for the same reason as I am now, but decided to just try and avoid stupid debates.

But then I realized that it's almost impossible for a lot of threads to see if they're going to wind up being a huge argument.

C in AP Calc.

^_^

A thread like this turned into a 6-page homeschool vs. public school debate which was later locked. btw, homeschool vs. public school debates happen WAY too often >_<.

a thread can be a nice thread meant for the members just to talk, but it can change into a flame war instantly.

and yes, I do hang out with friends, that was just an example. I'd rather be doing ANYTHING than arguing over opinions with people I don't know. Less TBT time = more fun time. I'm not saying TBT can't be fun, it's just that things constantly turn ugly, making it so that I spend more time debating rather than chatting.

about the set opinion thing... Yes, there is a set standard. if you go onto any forum, you have to have an opinion like everyone else, or else you'll be flamed. Look at all the 8-12 year olds that came to the forum, they'd mention something like toontown, and everyone went straight into flame mode, because someone liking toontown was obviously the wrong opinion. If anyone comes here and has a different opinion than everyone, they're sure to be flamed. Take music, for example. Snoop said that he thought Jordan Sparks and Avril Lavigne were good, the response was "Anyone with decent music taste" Snoop liked something that we all hate, therefore, he has bad taste in music, right? wrong.

you all say things like "everyone is entitled to their own opinion" or "everyones opinion is equal" but after about 2 minutes of reading, anyone could see that that's total crap.

Works for me, I guess you're just not as good as avoiding them, but yeah, If you were you I'd still stick around for Brawl tournaments and stuff. I mean, come on, it's stupid to leave somewhere for simply one reason. Stick around for the good stuff, and just do what you can to stay away from others. Don't leave for good, just make less frequent visits if you have to and stick strictly to video game topics if you really have to.

:P

Maybe if you didn't spend every spare moment you have (which apparently is quite a bit.) on this bloody website you'd not get stressed out by it. : \

Have fun, see you next week.

Oh never mind, it only took you fourteen hours.
